How happy are you with this? I've looked at their gear A LOT, but I never knew anyone that has actually used it. I'm tempted to get a jacket and pants from them for my first set of track leathers.

I am really happy with my jacket that I got from them. It turned out to be way nicer than I was expecting.

My fiance has a jacket from them too:

wiznut,

Nice jackets. Now, about those jeans and shoes... [down]

For the colder months I wear a Tourmaster Cortech 3/4 jacket (armor in the back, elbows, and shoulders) with Firstgear textile pants (armor in the hips and knees). I wear gauntlet leather gloves and a Scorpion EXO-700 helmet. I wear Frank Thomas riding boots.

For the summer everything is the same except I wear a Firstgear mesh jacket with armor that zips into the pants.

Holy crap Wiznut, I hope you aren't riding in those shoes. Right now I am riding in a two piece IXS leather suit for summer and a Hein Gericke insulated textile suit for the winter. Both feature 360 degree zipper which is hard to find on gear sold in America for some reason. I in the process of buying a Dainese two piece suit for 300 euro. Sidi boots, Ruesch kevlar lined gloves and a Nolan N103 full face modular helmet. Makes it easier to smoke on the bike. After living in Europe for 3 years I am an ATGATT rider. Especially at the speeds and riding that is down in the hills. Just have to watch out for a FJ1300R or K1200GT following you. The Polizei have normal looking bike with cameras. Just push a button and the front signals rotate and instant blues and a blue light raises out of the rear of the bike. Instant fat ticket. Luckily Baden Wurtenburg only has two.

Lol, no I'm not riding with those shoes. I ride with the service boots. I only had those pants and shoes on for the photos we were taking [smirk]

I ride with an Alpinestar vented jacket and gloves, HJC FF helmet, and over the ankle black workboots with regular jeans. Looking at getting a pair of dragging jeans.

Hey my feathers arent backwards. Wind be damned! Lol!
I didn't even consider wind when putting them on. Saw them online and KNEW I had to have them forwards. I just love em :D

Maybe I'll fit in riding pants after I lose 100 pounds. But for now, I could only go for chaps.

I won't use boot less than 10". Since I don't pull down my pants so the waist is wear the pockets should be, any boot less than 10" leaves part of my leg exposed to cold or flying road dirt.

90% of the time this is what I'm wearing if I'm on the bike:

Suomy lid
Icon Merc Long glove (which are about worn out)
Teknic 2-piece suit
Alpinestars SMX3 boots (also worn out)
and Dianese back protector under there.

All crash tested and approved...well...minus the helmet...which was purchased after a crash banged up the previous Suomy.

fishgutz

I'm with you.. leather wrapped around my fat ass is not a good idea. leg armor works best for me, wear it under my jeans all day on campus with no problems.

Full face Bell helmet, moisture wicking t-shirt, Mesh Jacket with pads, Jeans and over the ankle leather or ballistic nylon boots. This is the most comfortable combination for central Florida. I also am partial to a Camelbak hydration system too. I'll be buying some nylon pants in the near future. Enjoy your new Buell and ride safe.

Arai Chaser helmet,
BMW City Cordura/Denim trousers
BMW Allround Boots
BMW Pro gloves
H-D Mesh/Leather jacket when it's hot
H-D Thunder Valley leather jacket

ATGATT, except if I'm changing parking spots or pushing the bike. Last time I crashed I was wearing all the above except for jeans and Timberland boots .. I was riding to the airport so I thought I'm not getting on a plane with bulky boots and pants ..

.. got road rash on my legs, broken left ankle and banged my right knee pretty hard, I may need surgery soon ..

You can't under estimate the value of quality gear. And it's not worth a damn if you don't wear it.

To anyone reading this: Understand that the best protection when you hit the pavement is leather. Period. It's not always the most convenient, I understand that.

I've crashed twice, once wearing the gear I posted above and once a long time ago wearing not much more than a helmet, MX gloves, jeans, T, and sneakers. That time landed me in the hospital with an ankle the size of a football.

The crash with the gear gave me nothing...absolutely nothing. In fact, I got up and rode home.

One piece Dainese fully armoured race suit, Alpinestars race boots, HJC full face, Carbon knuckle gloves, EVERY time I get on the bike. Once you've been down in full gear, you'll never ride without it. As always, ATGATT!! Wayne

thats why i was thinking about the buell leather racing pants and jacket. i`m just not so sure about how great it looks when walking around off the bike, my partner calls it the wet nappy walk lol
i believe that draggin jean also work really well with against road rash too tho,

It's not easy or fun to walk around in. You've gotta choose your battles. If you're going somewhere to walk around perhaps a textile over-suit is in order.

I have a Joe Rocket textile jacket and pants I wear if I'm commuting. I can just slip them off when I get to my destination and be wearing normal clothes. But you gotta understand that textile isn't affording you the level of protection that leather is.

It's best to have an arsenal of gear to choose from, depending on the situation.

Holy shit. The only time I would wear that kind of shoes is in Margaritaville but on a Bike = no way.

I have the "Buell" Vanson leather Jacket and I will buy some matching Vanson leather pants sooner or later too.
I will also buy myself some "rokker jeans" (http://www.therokkercompany.com/09/en/) and I just bought the "Buell Adventure Jacket and pants". I can´t wait to try that gear out when spring is comming.
Have a great evening

I am also a HD cruiser transfer. I do not like any riding pants I have tried.I feel too confined. Where do you guys get the armor for under your jeans?
I bought a fullface scorpion helmut which I really like. I wore a half helmut on my harley or sometimes none at all so it has taken a long time to get used to a helmut. But I wouldn't ride without one anymore. I have a kevlar HD jacket with full armour believe it or not. Usually harley stuff is crap, just for show. I also have an alpine star jacket with armour for spring very nice. Picked up some buell racing gloves for cheap this christmas so I'll see how they are in the spring. I'm real fussy about gloves too though I don't want them to feel bulky. Anyone recommend any others? [confused]

Does anyone use dirtbike boots? I have never tried them on, but I was wondering how they would hold up on pavement and running errands. Would the soles fall apart by walking on them alot? How do they work with shifting?

I wear a size 14 so finding riding boots is an adventure to say the least.:)
