Just picked up a new 1125r well new to me and when I start it up cold it does'nt want to run until it warms up. Then it is fine. It almost wants to die until it does. Any one else with that problem

mine ran like shit from the time i got it at the dealer until i did a TPS reset, i'm not saying that it's whats wrong, but its the first step to make, free, and takes about 30 seconds.

I tried to do a TPS reset. But how do I know that it worked? I turned the key to the on position but did not start it. Then I open throttle to lock held for one second the close to lock 3 times. It still does it. It has a D&D exhaust on it. Loud as hell by the way. Could the exhaust cause that?

If the bike has older (VERY lean) maps in it, of course the aftermarket exhaust will cause it to be even leaner...!
Yes, this could cause your failing to run.

Also, the warm-up maps could be off.

Take it to your nearest Harley/Buell dealer and have the latest maps installed (flashed !) and see if that does the trick.

In any case, even with the latest maps from Buell, with the different exhaust, it should run...but it wont run like it should.

One thing to think about, call Erik Buell Racing and see about getting their ECM. Tell them "everything" about your bike when you talk to them.
Should make a big difference.

Mike

Taking to the dealer would cost me I would assume or would that be a recall thing. I know that the 08's had some issues and I don't know if those problems were addressed on this one yet. If not do you think it would be free.
