Anyone else recieve the letter about the brake line that *might* rub the front tire?

Looking at mine, there is no way it can touch the tire as the line is routed on the outside of the fork tube.

I bought this bike new last feb. Just wondering if the recall/reroute has been done by the dealer I got it from but they just never plugged it into the system.

anyone done the recall and can post a picture of what was done?

I didnt get a letter, but when I had some work done to my bike recently, they mentioned it and either I signed a waiver or let them do it. Mine wasn't even close to touching either, but somewhere someone had a problem. All they did was take off the master cylnder and route the line on the outside of the fork. It adds a different bracket on the fork, a clear rub pad, and they even give you smaller reflectors!!! lol, which I had them trash.

I had mine done a long time ago...if you look at any pics I have posted recently it'll show what the fix looks like. I'll see if I can find one that shows it closely.

Yea!! They put the brake line on the outside of the fork and tie strap it and put a big a$$ bracket in the old mount location. Looks like absolute crap ! I put it back the way it was though !

Hmm...looking at my recent pics, and going off of 24_7 and WALLSXB's description, it looks like when specifically took my bike in and left it with the HD dealer for a week to get the recall done...they didn't do it. Did I mention that HD service sucks? This can just piggy back on my other thread about their service...[mad]

I'm just going to leave it the way it is...over 10k miles with no issues at all.

I would have left mine the way it was, but still having a year of warranty left, didnt want some freak problem with the front of the bike and have them use the excuse.. "well, you didnt do the recall and thats what caused it". I may put it back, but to me it really does not look bad.. who knows

Have any pics of it you can post? Would like to see what they did since all this time I thought it had been done to mine...

I dont have one handy, sorry, bike is crammed into a storage shed right now

In 2010 the must have automatically run the cable the new way and used a shorter cable, or the shorter scg suspension makes the line stick way out. Here is my 2010 XB12Ss

yeah, all 10's as far as I was told had it done. Mine looks more like thunderstorms, it doesnt stick out at all.

thats funny, my 2009 XB9SX has the brake line behind the fork....and when I bought it new they told me it already had the recall done?

well I was under the impression that it was on the outside from the factory and the recall moved it inside....whatever I'm not going to change it.

buell 4 me - same thing here! I hadn't seen another 09 with the mod until looking at these pics. My dealer put the clear tape on the inside of the fork and left it routed to the inside - and looks like I have maybe the old and new bracket on the lower triple clamp??

The best part is that I bought the bike early last Jan, stuck my VIN in the service page on HD website and found the recall was open. Took it in a couple weeks later SPECIFICALLY for for the recall...
