A while back I had posted a thread about putting Airbox grillz in a Translucent piece. I still think I can pull it off using H channel molding, but am trying to figure out a design. So anyone who has some cool custom grillz / Air scoops / Air intakes - You get what im saying - Please post them here and show them off.

Here are a couple of other peoples that were posted in that thread.

I just cut my own with a jigsaw. I did not do the open air box concept. I did cut vents in the side's of both of the airboxes. You dont want water in you filter! I also drilled a small drain hole in the back of the inner box to let any would be water drain. Works great! I ride in rain and no water.

wicked cool all of these! really got my creative juices flowing looking at em! i think ill wait a while before i cut mine tho, since i just got it :)

Do you ride in the rain? Is so does the filter get water logged?

My cold air filter on my car gets a little wet. That's why they're oiled. There is water in gasoline already. What the heck do you think "techron" is? Haha. Just trollin. But seriously, I'm not worried about my filter getting a little rain on it. You're going to your filter more wet by riding in fog anyways. Plus Jobe, you're on a firebolt, that intake doesn't get wet unless you're sitting still for a long time.

above was sanded white panels wtih pin strip. last time i used that panel set, i sprayed it silver with black strip...

What if you bike is parked in the rain for a couple hours??? I have sucked up water from a really "cool" cold air intake in my celica. It made my high flow into a lowflow. Engine actually bogged out with a oiled filter and a.e.m filter. Im just saying. Cool for the race track but not for go. My advise...Keep the inside box if you have a Big cover vent. If you have to just cut vents in the sides.

Cheers. [smirk]

and the only clear shot i have of hte CR with its new airbox at present... still not finished yet.
