have some tuning questions and wanted to see if there were any opinions out there before i go get my bike dyno'd and tuned..... its a 2007 xb9r, k&n air filter and jardine slip on.....

so I installed the Daytona twin tuner (not sure who is familiar with it) but it is programmable, and i bought the usb interface for it so i can tune it from a computer. I also installed a race ecm and when i started the bike it was ungodly rich.... so i took the race ecm off and put the stock one on and it runs fine, just needs to be tuned obviously.....

I guess my question/problem is..... do you think that the twin tuner is significant enough for it to be tuned on the dyno? or should i throw the race ecm back on and let the tuning experts figure it out?!?

Thanks for any help, and i hope i didn't ramble TOO much...

All those in-line tuning modules are garbage.

Much better off tuning the bike yourself with a stock ECM, ECM cable, datalogs, and your choice of software.

well...I guess we will see what kind of tuning I pull from it next week, I'll let you guys know what set up I go with....

Phrass,The guys are right ,those tuners are not to good for the Buells. Now that being said you have it already on the stock ECM,and that is the way to go for now, that you spent the moolah.Tweek it a little here and There, small moves! Keep at least 4 Stock spark plugs and save the boxes. While you are running the Daytona Twin Controller, note mileage/fuel type/ front plug/rear plug etc.. Every 2,500.miles pull the plugs and check them. (GO easy on the plug threads). If you want to use the Race ECM it should be plug in, A TPS reset and ride/ you can't use the Twin Tec with a Race Ecm. A free flowing air filter w/no other changes should get you in the right direction. The Tuner packs out there are really for the larger 96 cubic and jap/bikes with 4 cylinders & exhaust changes and so on. The STOCK ECM might want to set yourself up for ECM Spy w/ cable .Xoptiinside.com OR FTDI.com will have the necessary & FREE drivers. GET the newer drivers, they have and American Sportbike .com also will have the cable . Please do your research on ECM Spy before you use it on the Stock ecm. This is a Great BUT powerful tuner & diagnostic tool. Whatever you decide take your time and enjoy learning about your Bike.Welcome to the Forum.~Jimi
