Only stoopid answers yea? I feel stoopid asking this but I am new to this thumpy v~twin. I have been riding the piss outa my x1 since I picked it up. Almost 1000 miles in the last couple weeks. Most of those miles in the twistys near my house. I must say... I didn't expect it to handle as good as it does!!! My question arises due to me riding it a little more aggresive as I get the feel for her. When riding hard.. what rpms to you carry through a corner? I have been riding conservatively until the last couple rides and well.... holding steady rpms above 3500 sounds and freels like I'm gonna blow something up. I have been lugging it like... well.. like a harley and it seems to like it... however ... i feel like it doesn't make power till 4g. Sun just came out.. giggity giggity.

I want to ride it like I stole it but don't want to abuse her ya know? Just curious how others ride.

When pushing it, you will get a feel of when you have gone beyond the range, rpms, when it is no longer making power. If the bike feels like it does not want to pull you through the turns, but roll through, wrong gear or rpms, drop it a gear and get a feel of what the bike feels like it wants to do in the turns in that gear and go from there, but do all this at a your own pace, and a place where you feel comfortable,go at your own speed,do a sight lap at where you ride and get a feel of the conditions of the road b4 you start pushing, these bikes are a handfull when played with right.I will roll thruogh the turns at about 3800,mid turn twist it up to about 4100 and upon exit hit about 4500 and keep rolling untill i feel it is just about to fall flat and upshift.Just my 2 cents:)

Nice.. thanks for the input guys. And ryhno... I don't ever push a turn blind... I know this road well and have even considered heading to my favorite section with a push broom. Hahahaha. Xb and x1 motors differ a little yea? I have seriously fallen in love with this bike... had no clue it would carve like it does. I just wanted somethin to put around on. Surprise... surprise... I wanna RIDE it now.
