Hey guys i have a 2000 x1 lightning D&D exhaust race ecm and it is camed. I have recently developed a issue with it dieing on me after a few miles of riding and i come to a stop. It seems to shudder and shut off. It will restart but only under hard throttle and unless i keep on the throttle it will die again. I brought it to the dealer it was throwing a error code 33 fuel pump so they thought low pressure and the ecm was not strong enough to power it so they replaced the ecm and flashed it. The bike ran strong for about 10 miles and the ecm fried so they thought is was a faulty ecm and replaced it again and what do you know burned that one to. any insight would be great guys thanks matt

We had a x1 with a voltage regulator that once was hot would over charge the system... would sometimes but rarely blow fuses but would spike enough to fry ecu's... just a thought.... took about 3 months and a bad reputation to figure out...

have also seen a key switch that would vibrate due to being loose and eventually exposed a 12v wire to the frame causing an ignition failure ...

both of these things seemed to happen after about 10- 20 mile rides .... we kept thinking heat or something.. and after a long inspection found both issues...

keep an open mind and go thru everything...

Hope this helps...
