1997 Buell ??

It looks like a early Cyclone. The exhaust goes over the frame rail and it has the old stamped steel swingarm. Many recalls for motor mounts and the "eye" for the rear pull type spring/damper which would fail and cause the rear suspension to fail but if these were fixed and you know how to turn a wrench is should be ok. Check the primary chain for sure!

thanks for the help.
ya its currently sitting at a pawn shop and it's in "so-so" condition, at least aesthetically. so if the engine runs strong and i can get it for under 1500 i think i might get it.

I've rebuild 2 or 3 drift cars from frame up so i should be able to handle some bike repairs

Buell’s in general but tube framed Buell’s in particular are a unusual beast in the motorcycle kingdom and that is what makes them appealing to folks such as ourselves.

yeah i never really had too much information on Buell and after seeing that bike at the shop deciding to start doing some research and wow, there was some seriously high tech bikes coming from Buell or at least for the time they were made

i have a whole new appreciation for them and how different yet raw their bikes are, simply muscle, metal and a seat

I have a 98 s1w white lightning 1207cc muscle bike that is loud and fast as hell (1st to 100mph every time) Make sure you keep up on maintenance. Check every bold and nut, especially the exhaust and brackets. Metal will snap. Everybody loves it and they are scared of it... They should be. Respect [up]
