So.. here is a photo of the tail I am working on. I was originally thinking I could make the stock tail lamp work. I then realized its too big and ugly. I started thinking LEDS since I want to keep the profile of the tail as narrow as possible.

This was my second idea, pretty bad ass and has stop/tail/and turns.

Turns and Brake Flexible array at the bottom of this page:

http://www.radiantz.com/index1.html?c16.html&1

After reading up on them I found out they only bend on a single plane (can't bend like a frowny face to attached on the underside of my tail which would have been ideal). If I mount it to the inside of the tube they would be visible from the rear but not the sides (require by law), if mounted on the outside of the tubing I think it would look tacky.

After spending time to make something nice I don't want to stick something on it with double sided tape that would be visible. (on a flat surface the tape isnt that visible but on a 7/8" o.d. tube you'd see the edges.

The only thing I have come up with is welding small tabs on the inside to attached something hanging below the tubing (brake/tail as one unit and separate turns on the sides. If I do this I want something SMALL as not to pull from the tail design. Sigh. Looked all over and can't find anything I like.

Any input on what lamps? Different mounting? My lic plate will be tucked inside above the oil tank, between the two lower supports and visible above the tire (not so legal I think but who cares.. it looks better and probably wont be the reason I get pulled over). I ordered a black lic frame with leds to illuminate the plate and thought about having the LED strip above the plate but that is.... a reason to get pulled over!

I love being creative and coming up with fun solutions but this one is annoying me. I need to ride soon!

Any creative input welcomed. Thanks guys!!!!

Someone posted on here a strip they had used and it looked awesome! I will try to find it as I am at work bored and have nothing to do!

Couple more reference photos. I want the profile to be as close to the way it looks. I know something has to be their but minimal is key.

Pretty sure that was the Radiantz LED strip I linked to. Dunno if it will look clean. His was able to hide it a little bit. On an XB I beleive.

Yeah it's on a lightning but as you see it will curve a little bit? I bet you could make it look clean on there! Or possibly use a chopped tail like he did? But that might make the rear look bulky?

Yea... that sweet but I don't know if it would look clean on my tail. Looks great the way he has it set up. Hmmmm... I might have an idea.... hmmm. Haha.

Thanks Kuntree. Thats quite a compliment. I have never been a fan of XBs but they are starting to grow on me. Hahaha. Love em all actually. ;)

The tube the LEDs are in is D shaped and only bends along the flat side. Now I am thinking if I make a plate the thickness of that tube with a couple mounting ears I could attach to the inside of the seat frame it would work. I just don't want the end result to look cheezy. Blaylock definitely doesn't.

i used a custom dynamics tail/brake/turn combo strip on my xb bent in the frown works well but they make better looking ones i just happen to have that one for a customer n he didnt come get it fast enuf
