so my race can started making a funny noise on my way to work and this is what I found when I got here. I thought it was a header stud that came loose or broke on the front head but no.

yea, it took some abuse when the rear straps broke due to the highway but it just needs cleaned and welded back up.

I've actually been toying with the idea of straight pipes and I have a general idea of what I want to do with it. just no idea if I'd want to mess with the tuning

That looks like a fairly easy weld job. I hear you with the straight pipes. I've been kicking that idea around myself :)

weld it, ceramic coat it, and pimp it. The Race Pipe is worth a little TLC to get back up and running.

Well its welded back together. And since my father took it while I was asleep I have to clean up his friend's 3rd grade welds. Apparently the fact that I can weld doesn't mean sh*t compared to his excuse to buy a case of beer and drink with a friend. Grr

lmao that what dads are for besides im sure it was paybacks for something you did at a younger age

well, I've got a lot of grinding to do now and I'm probably still going to try making a pipe

damn wolfo you have some luck. i hope i never meet you, i dont want any of that. it seems like the dumbest things happen to you. the saga of wolfo's buell continues.

oh I have quite the bad luck streak, the people around me seem to get good luck though. I must just absorb all the bad

I have seen a post with the same damage... and the repair (welded). If u can't weld your selfe find a shop or ask Randy. The reason for such cracks are the bad welding in the 1st place and then corrosion and vibration.

well a couple weeks ago mine decided it wanted to try and take flight, didn't exactly work out so well. but I picked it back up and brought it to work with me.
