I am getting a Buell XB Super TT this weekend and have a question about changing the exhaust cannister. I have had many bikes where if you don't change the intake but just a slip on a remap is not necessary. How does it work on a Buell XB engine, I would like to install a jardine cannister or something similar. Seen an Akropovic on a youtube video that sounded great but they don't show one on the Akro web site. Anyway, remap or not? thanks for any help and info on a Buell. Mike

NOT NECESSARY for a remap, however, you COULD benefit from a remap.

and akro doesn't make anything for buell

i'm on my 3rd XB and have had randy hawkins from hawk performance work his magic on every stock muffler. his work is chronicled many times on here and i have never done an ecm remap. i have installed iridium tipped NGK plugs and a breather system reroute but all 3 bikes have run fine without a remap. GOduc is correct in that a remap does add benefits but i've never been a recipient of those benefits.

if you don't change it from th stock filter you should be fine, if you start changing the air intake and the output then you should consider a remap. typically you can get away with changing one or the other without effecting much.
