I've been thinking that my nikes aren't really cutting while riding and was wanting to find a comfortable boot for riding and while walking around after getting off the bike. I've been looking around and some of the ICON boots look pretty good but a picture hardly tells you wether or not something is comfortable. Price is definitely a factor, trying to stay under $100. Any input you guys could share would be greatly appreciated.

wait and save up some more money.you get what you pay for when it comes to comfort and protection.

i have the alpine star ST vented boot and love it. not to bad to walk a little bit in but great for riding can't talk enough good about them

for what its worth here is my opinion. I have 2 year old icon boots, they were stiff and uncomfortable at first just like any other piece of equipment. Then they broke in and feel great, I actually wore mine around the house after a small ride today. Will they keep you from breaking you ankle? depends on the crash, but one thing is for sure...when I see people riding in sneakers or worse sandals I look and think what a idiot because if and when you crash they are going to come flying off your feet like every viral video you see here on the internet. Spent the $200 or so and get a good set of boots.

I been thinking about getting another set of boots myself. Used to have a pair of A* SMX, wasnt a huge fan, i sold them and havve been wearing carbon toed timberland jhiking boots. Theey work. Im more getting booots jusst to complete my riding geer set. Illprolly go with a pait of Sidi's.

Sorry for thee spelling in my posts, im on a silicon keyboard on my tablet, its noot the greatesst, and iv givveen up on backsppacing.

I have this to say,
I have seen many boots cut off! If you go down and fire comes to see you :)>.
They cut shit off!

So how do you hit them with understanding please don’t cut them off they cost X, just unbuckle that unzip this and pull them off please. You can't, policy is policy!
But I have found a back door to this policy, the door is @ Red Wings!
See if you get these boots below and buy the zipper, not only are the great riding boots for all weather IMO *Laughs @ rain in them*, I get off the bike and they look great!
See these are the boots the fire department trust with their life! The zipper was made for them, so when they show up and see those (NICE boots as I have been told) cutting them off will not be first thing on their mind! That’s equipment they work with every day!
When I put them on I hate having to take them off, I mean I get home and the first thing used to be take off the boots! Now lol my wife will ask me while I’m watching late night TV with a beer, and she’s going to bed you going to take those off and relax?

I know they do not look like Rice Rocket Boots!

I have a pair of Icon super duty's wearing them for less then a year. After breaking them in they've been ok for wearing all day but I'm sure happy to take them off at the end of the day. Quality isn't as good as I was hopping already had the sole glued back down as the heel was coming apart and the stitching at the lace loops was coming un done. Took them to the local cobbler to have the stiching fixed.

Over all its a ok boot but wish there was something with a little better qualitly and comfert I could wear all day once I get to work and that didn't looks like a "motorcycle boot" and still offered protection.

I've had the TCX X-Square boots since Christmas and I like them a lot. I know they aren't the best protection if I go down but they are comfortable and I can wear them anywhere and not feel like I'm walking around in big boots. I even wear them to work.

I've got the shift kickers, and they are great!!

me too

I think of riding gear as an investment. Its your skin, how much is it worth to you? If you are set against a $100 budget you can find some decent used boots on Ebay or CL. Just be picky on what you choose and ensure they fit your needs.

I have a pair of Sidi Cobra Boots. Not too bad a price, got them new from Revzilla for $250 shipped. Sidi boot sizing is typically a 1/2 size larger so keep that in mind if going for a pair. Other than that, they are excellent in fit, protection and features.

I've been rocking smx line boots from alpinestars, starting to break in and they feel pretty good.

You can find them pretty cheap on ebay!
