1 Bad thing about wearing a FF helmet

Buellxb Forum

Bought a new helmet recently that has the nose guard in it and have never had one before. I was quickly reminded of it when i lifted my sheild to spit ( we do that alot in Texas) and launched only to have it hit the gaurd and stay in the helmet. Thank god for all the dried leaves on the ground to aid in cleanup. [sad]

I hate that they limit my perphials. Also, sneezing sucks!! Plus, it is hard to eat with one on! I just bought a new Shoei and I love it.

I get bad allergies and last season I couldn't get my visor up fast enough... aaaaahhhhchooooooo...

Looked like I had ridden through a swarm of bugs.

is I am limited on my nostral excavational activivites.

Try loosening your chin strap just a wee bit... dig, dig, dig... flick... then snug it back down.

Hmmm... gloves kinda ruin it too now that I think about it.

Heh heh This is some good feedback on here. Thanks everybody. Just trying to lighten the mood.

yea, it really makes it hard to snort coc and drink a beer while riding too
Don't forget about Marijuanna [cool]

No no thats a good idea. If I pick while wearing gloves it will eventually flare my nostrils more. That way I'll look mad and intimidating...or not

So what's everyone's opinions on modular helmets? Flip up, dig, smoke, eat, spit, snort...flip down and continue...

I don't have one, but a friend does. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to trust one.

jetlee, in seriousness, I'm on my third modular helmet. First two were the Harley Ghost flame KBC helmets. Crash tested both. #1 did great, broke a vent, rashed it etc. Low side, 45mph or so. #2, went off a 100ft cliff at 50mph. Low side, over berm at the edge of the road and hit a Oak tree about 30" or 35" in diameter. It did break the chin bar of the helmet and knocked me unconscious. I had no damage to my face. I currently wear a Scorpion EXO 900 modular. I have faith in them.

I can't remember who, but one company has a modular that is DOT certified as a full face. Most are DOT certified as a 3/4.

Well that gives them some good rep.

The guys I know that wear them, have never touched the ground with anything more than their feet. Hadn't heard from anyone with experience in wrecks with them.

Maybe I'll look into them, would be nice since I'm always fiddling with my carb/ignition.

I had an HJC mod, way too heavy, I was going to get the KBC but its been discontinued.
Currently looking at the Bell Revolver Evo.
Tried the 1st revolver and it was their 1st attempt, and fit like it too.

Modulars have always interested me. Have always riden with nothing but a FF. Wouldn't have it any other way.

3/4 shells are nice for spitting, nose picking, etc., never have spit inside my full face icon tho hahaha. Did almost drown on my way to work one time cuz I had put a dip in and had to ride 5 miles b4 I could spit. Never used a modular but I'd say they are pretty convenient. [up]

Is when you strap the helmet on, lean in to kiss the lady friend good bye and you knock her out cold with an incidental head butt!
