got a bug up my ass and I swapped my low seat back on in place of my standard last night, what a pos. While it's waaaaay easier to corner with the low seat, the 25 min ride to work was brutal, I might as well have been sitting on a 2x8. Best money I ever spent. Standard seat for daily use and keep the low for the track.

have any pics of before and after? not sure what seat i have but have the same problem after a longer ride..

From my info page...

Before - Stock low seat

After - Stock XB9/XB12 standard seat

thanks for the info.. looks like i do have the low seat may start looking for a better one for long rides as well. windscreen looks like it would help alot on longer rides too

Meh, with the standard seat, ZG tall windscreen and my 5'8" height (sitting normally), wind hits me directly in the face. To escape the buffeting effect, I have to lean forward a bit in a small tuck. I picked up the windscreen used on a deal from a fellow Bueller, I prob wouldn't have popped the $ for a new one.

The only other seat option I considered was having the low seat re-covered with better foam and vinyl, but for the $100 I paid for the seat (in near pristine condition) I'm only 1/4 way to a custom Saddleman & about 1/2 of what I could've had it done locally. Good enough for me to commute 30 mins a day on. Like I said earlier, the low seat makes the bike easier for me to control but I like the riding position better on the standard ( a little less cramped).

I put my cg seat in storage for when I can afford to have it recovered. I'm gonna have some padding put in because that board wrapped in vinyl is brutal on my fatless ass.
By far the most uncomfortable seat my bottom has ever met.

I have a xb9sl and that seat would leave something to be desired, I got the next step up in height, not as thick as sparkys high seat but man the difference it makes is huge

Ya I did the same thing. I got a new low seat from the local HD dealer and thought I was all set. WOW I was in a hurt after 125 miles. I was going to sell my XB9sx and thought I was to old to ride. Cornering was better but riding with the stock seat is way better.
Life is good. Keep on riding!!!
