Hi everyone. Im a new rider who fell in love with the XB Lightning. Looking for a 2003 XB9 (or sx or similar). I dont have much so mileage doesnt matter, cosmettic damage okay, dropped, thats okay too! Budget: $2800 $3000... she has to be running though!

I had a couple of opportunities to buy one but others beat me to it so far. Any help would be great! I love Buell.

I'm in southern CA. Los Angeles. I might be able to purchase in Nor Cal since I have family Near Sacramento.

I've seen some decent stuff on craigslist this past week. for example:2005 xb9sx

A little above your stated range but it's got a nice exhaust and race ecm, tail chop

Hmm, looks like that was taken? But probly expensive though. Thanks for the spot! Still looking. $2800 $3000 is my range. If they wanna do payments for a couple of months I can do that.

I live in San Diego, but there are only a few around here. This one is about 30 mins from where I am...

'09 XB12R

It seems odd that it is selling so cheap, but it does not have the Harley v-twin (if that matters to you) and the guy does not seem very knowledgeable about it.

That is a good deal, it looks like it has been down though...

It has D&D exhaust, and crash sliders.

It DOES have a "Harley" Vtwin. It is a XB. [confused]

I just saw this after getting home from work. Thanks guys! A bit far though. Ive never ridden on the highway. Hmm, this looks like a Firebolt, Im confused. And this is a 1203! Isn't that too much power for a noob?

Also, I just found an XB9s in Riverside (closer to me) for $3500. This guy said he had the gearbox replaced and the engine replaced with a 1203cc. Does this sound odd to anyone? Its completely a stock 2003 and it looks like new. Again, not sure if the 1203 is for me or do I not know what Im talking about (and should I jump on the deal)? I know a bike will do what you tell it to (more or less). This is my first bike.

Btw, thanks for the help guys. This forum has some awesome people on it!

I would get the 09. I started on my 09 1203, no problems with too much power. I had other problems, like blind corners.

The 9 and the 12 are very similar from what I have read, I have never rode a 9.

XB9/12S = Lightning
XB9/12R = Firebolt

i talked to the guy in san diego with the 2009 it is salvage title only 1100 miles bike seems to be in good shape
