went to start my bike up this evening because it has been about 3 weeks since it was last ran and i noticed a quarter sized oil leak. i traced it back to the rear cylinder. i also noticed that there is oil in the airbox. why would it be leaking oil and how can i fix it? its a 07 xb12ss lightning 11100 miles.

Looks like your rockerbox gakset is leaking. Needs to be replaced. You'll need to rotate your engine. There is a good "how to" thread in the do it yourself section of this forum. I would replace the gasket in the front cylinder aswell. Good luck.

Here ya go man ... Two threads on engine rotation ... the rocker box gaskets aren't really a challenge if you make it this far into a bike ... also the second one has the torque values on almost all of the bolts you encounter in case you were curious ...
