Thanks to forum member speedkills I am now the grinning owner of an '05 Buell XB9SX in hero blue. speedkills took such amazing care of this bike, and I will forever be grateful for that. The ride home from his place (about 30m) was alternately rainy, sunny, misty, and windy and I never lost confidence in this rock-solid machine even once. The suspension is fantastic, the engine has so much usable power, and it handles and feels like a bike of half its displacement.

I've been riding since '89, and owned 7 motorcycles - all of which have been Japanese and 5 of which were inline fours. This is my first American motorcycle and I am genuinely and absolutely stricken with it. Thank you Erik Buell, you are an artist and a genius.

Congrats! welcome to the addiction..(er, I mean Buells).. your new bike looks great, but I dunno' about the extra lettering on the tank/frame.. maybe techspec grip pads would look better! ENJOY!

With its high-tech chasis & old-school tractor motor, the XB sure does give you something simply unavailable with ANY other bike!

Having said that there's nothing like the screaming top end rush of an inline 4 that revs over 17,000rpm like my wife's ZX6r either!

Singles, twins, triples, I-4s, fives, and sixes; I LOVE 'em all!

After owning a Buell for only a few months, i am totally in love with road riding again!! Good choice mate, hope you enjoy it and you have many great adventures on the beast

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome, everyone. After reading through this forum a bit I have to say its full of great info do thanks to all who contribute.

Thumpin1203, I think I'm going to keep it as is for a while (focus my budget towards riding gear!), but who knows what I'll do in the future :).

Go Cytosis, I'll never forget that screaming inline four - or my first love, the two-stroke tz250, but I just don't get any track time to truly appreciate it and wanted something more torquey for road riding - and this bike sure delivers in that department!

Congrats and I actually don't mind the buell on the tank. It doesn't look horrible. I would change up the tires though.

Welcome! Looks good! [up]

Have a look at our site for some accessories if you like. Never to late to get the mod bug! :p

Enjoy & ride safe!
