Well I apologize if this has already been posted somewhere. However, I just went to the bike show in NY this weekend. I met a guy there last year from Triumph who used to work for Buell. Anyway saw the guy there again this year and of course I had to talk to him. He still keeps in contact with many people who went over with Erik to EBR, and in fact told me his boss at Triumph was the lead designer for the 1125cr. I thought it was awesome. He told me that Erik was in the works and news should be released soon that EBR will buy the rights to make parts and service Buell motorcycles. I assume most of the parts made will be ones that fit the 1125, but even so this is the best news I've heard in a while. Just hope it comes true.

That WOULD be nice.
And a good move on Harley's part too ;)
They alienated lots of Buell owners, who now go to aftermarket/independent shops. So, i doubt Harley gets much business from them.

OEM translucent plastics again? :D Heck... throw in some new colors when the molds get put to use again :D

Wouldn't it suck if Harley-Davidson had your last name as a registered trademark so you couldn't use it? It's his name on our bikes. It would be nice if he provide parts for them.

They didn't do the plastics to begin with. It was another company that did them anyways if I remember correctly

If this is true, it is HUGE for the Buell community! Thanks for sharing! [up]

You guys should have met this guy. He was absolutely amazing to talk to, he bought an 1190RS Carbon Edition with a special paint, he had one of the few 2010 1125r's made which he unfortunately sold. But I saw pictures of the AMA 1190RS being built. He didn't give me any info on the new models other than the sx will be like an xb9 city, and the ax will be the modern ulysses. He didn't say which parts they would make, or exactly how its going to work, but let's hope this really goes through. I can't wait, I bought my 1125, started getting into riding, now I call it my obsession, finally Buell showing the Japs how America does it =P

I have Harley 10 mins from my house, and EBR at Cross Country Cycles is 10 mins in the other direction, this couldn't be better news. Cause I know certain Harley dealers didn't want Buell to start, so they hate servicing them now, thank god Liberty Harley by me has a few Buell guys. I can only say this, Buell is back, and better than ever. :)

At what cost? If this is true, its a long ways out, considering Twin Motorcycles was planning on stepping up, but thats years out still. Parts could double in price, for example EBRs race brake rotor just doubled in price. Harley may not be entirely supportive of Buell but they are setup to continue making parts for the next few years still, and so far my experience has been at reasonable prices.

Harley has been good to the Buell community in Spfld, Mo. The parts are cheap and I don't pay shipping. That's why I go there instead of internet sources. I was nervous at first and tried some other metric shops around town but a couple flat told me they don't service of do parts for Buells.I can't imagine Harley walking away from the sales of parts until they are no longer required by law.

Although it does sound great that EBR is trying to do this, I have no problems dealing with my local Harley or using the big online Harley shops, like I have read that so many have [confused]

This news makes me very happy. Im excited to see what happens.

I deal with lattus Harley Davidson often. Ive had nothing but good service from helpful people there. As a matter of fact now that I think about it just about every HD dealership ive dealt with has been more than happy to help. And even happier to take my money lol. Lattus, San Diego, A.D farrow, Baxters, and a few more I cant recall at 2 a.m. Im sorry to hear that people have had bad dealings with them but I have never had such encounters.

Go ebr! WOO! [up] so excited :D

Ya it is good news if it's true. But the service boys at Harley really like talking Buell and know they are bad ass. Which makes ordering parts pleasurable. We also have a bunch of Buell trash cans at our Harley dealer:D I want one.
