Hi, fellows, I have a 2008 XB12S. I Just noticed the hose routing in to the engine, under the header from the rear cylinder (as shown in the pix below ), is a little burnt from the heat of the header. does anyone know what that hose is for? is it an oil return line? it's not leaking but i wanna replace it. does any of you have the same issue?

That's the transmission vent hose ... nothing serious ... just be sure to use a zip tie to keep it down against the conduit that runs along the starter to prevent a repeat ...

EDIT: sorry anrkism ... didn't mean to double post ... ya beat me to it ... lol

oh, so no fluid in the hose. thanks for the info... i was so worried this morning when i saw it.

OverRev,
I routed the hose to the other side of the engine. No more problem. I love the way you did the pulley/belt guard. I see no rivets or bolts holding the screen. What did you use to hold the screen on and what type of screen?

I just put a heat-shield loom on it and ziptied it away from the header. may consider rerunning when i have time but where does the hose go? i only see one ends going into the top of the tranny.

I just use regular mesh ppl use for car bumper ( like those for bodykit ), and i use polyurethane glue to hold it on. * make sure you check the clearance so the grille wont interfere with the belt/pulley.

I have a bolt, mine goes up and over the rear top shock mount. Not real familiar with polyurethane glue. Brand? Where to buy? Same for the mesh?
