Hello
i'm replacing the seals and the oil in the scg forks and need to know the amount of oil needed to set it correctly
need some help on this one
thanks

A service manual will tell you exactly how to set the fork oil level....along with how to do -everything- else on the bike

yes I know that that, but my service manual is for a xb9sx, and I've swapped the sx forks for scg, and the manual I have don't have the scg specifications
so, for the folks that have a scg manual or did the procedure, can someone tell me the amount of oil that the scg forks require
thanks

I can't help you exactly. But the actual amount of oil is just a base measurement. What you'll need is the measurement from the top of the fork tube to the oil level. On EBR forks it's 118mm. That's the measurement you'll need to find for your forks.

The factory XB service manuals have the fork fluid requirements for all suspension variations. Look closer in your suspension section for the Scg oil level.

Straight from a 2008 XB manual:

I don't have that in my 04 manual either. Odd. Keep in mind the measurement Eric posted for an 08 XB12R is different than what my manual says for an 04 XB12R. Maybe the manuals were model specific early on, then changed them to cover different models with one manual. Which would make sense.
