a working pump on ignition on is pretty loud and you can clearly hear that. this could suggest that your pump is working. it should make the zooming sound for about 4 second, if less it could indicate a problem with the pump. (a dealer can easily check if the pump is giving enough pressure)
but as i said, i could be several things.
electrical? it is possible that the injectors do not receive the pulse to open/inject the fuel. although both of them at the same time is pretty wierd, better check the wiring.
could just be an ecm malfunction which is not sending the pulse at all.
or it could be as simple a bad/dirty fuel.
carb advantages:
- better, faster, smoother throttle response
- no more ecm, sensors, fuelpump, etc = less electrical problems
- better reliability (especially in warmer weather)
- better fuel/milage ratio
- etc.
of all the guys i know with the "tubeframe"-buells there's only 1 still working with the injection (x1 millenium) and has his share of problems due to that.
he's finally thinking of getting the carb...
could you give some more details on your bike setup?
