If you try to use that shift rod that is longer than the one you had, then you WILL need buy and install the bracket AND you will need to get lower foot pegs as well.

Since you didn't heed this wise all-knowing advice from a handsome man:
you can source that tiny rod end from Mc-master/Carr, Grainger, any race shop, Amazon, or e-bay. Its the RH thread that you need.

Now you have one... its on wrong shift rod you purchased.

So...

Unscrew the broken RH rod end (the end without the line on it) from your perfectly good and correct length shift rod off your own bike. Replace it with the RH rod end from the wrong shift rod you just bought. And go for that ride you wanted.
