I would like to get some kind of pad to put on the frame to give me something for my pants to grip. My riding pants are a kinda slippery nylon material. I would like something that would grip my pants better especially under braking. Any suggestions?

Techspec makes a Buell specific frame/tank grip. I put them on my Ulysses, I really like them. PXL_20230618_131129252-1.jpg

I looked at their website. It appears that they are offering anything for bikes older than 2006. I have a 2004 XB9s. Did the frame change at that point? I'm almost tempted to get a set and trim it if need be. Your Uly frame looks like mine. When did you get your pads?

BUelXB's have a 'long' frame models like the Uly, XBSS, XBSTT... and 'Short' frame models XBS, XBR. 9 or 12 doesn't matter. I bet Tech Spec fits either, but if they offer one for an S, get it, the year won't matter.

Techspec are the nicest/ thickest for sure! and I find they even help with the frame radiating heat into your leg, but have had issues with the adhesive failing on the tank grip part. You can cut up a universal set as budget or creativity allows, nothing special here.

I put mine on when i refurbished the bike last winter. Rode over 5000 miles this summer and no problems with them so far. Like Cooter said they will be easy to mod if you wish.

Both my Buells have had the Tech Spec grips, and I like them a lot. They definitely help with the heat, because that frame gets HOT. Riding my XB9SX home for the first time, I went straight through ATL in the middle of summer heat with afternoon traffic. All in all, it wasn't that bad for a big air cooled motor, except for the frame which was blistering hot right where the gap was between the grip pads and the seat. I might find something to fill that gap before next summer.
