On a ride in June I developed a problem with my cooling fan not running, replaced the fuse and it blew again. I used my ECM dongle and (with a new fuse in) got the obvious fan error code. I pulled the fan (noticed another problem) and it bench tested ok, so I reinstalled it. While removing the fan I noticed oil which had sprayed, probably from the spocket shaft seal, onto the fan, wiring harness and jug. That kind of issue is outside of my level of mechanical ability, so I searched the Buell website for a service center, found JSC Motorsports in Albany, NY, made an appointment with them and dropped the bike off a few weeks ago.
Long story short this morning they called, can't fix the leak(s, apparently they found others which I have never seen evidence of) because they can't source parts and said running a 15 amp fuse rather than the 10 as designed and used for 15 years was good to go. Oh, and they aren't a certified Buell service center. They let their certification lapse on that. Thanks for letting me know that after. I wrote to Buell and asked that they update their listing.
My original dealer lost their Harley dealership years ago, so I was thinking of trying another Harley dealer since these are Sportster blocks.
So, I'm looking for a mechanic, hopefully within a 300 mile radius of Plattsburgh NY that can fix the leak(s) on my Uly and troubleshoot the fan issue, cuz I'm not comfy just running with a higher amperage fuse.

Any recommendations?

They are prone to leaks around the rocker cover PCV grommets, and the rear will 'spray' into the fan. The rear PCV can be removed without rotating the engine, but you gotta be careful. You may also find the hoses that connect the valves to the breather box leak at the valves.

Your fan is bad - even if it runs on the bench, it's drawing too much power. A (relatively) cheap replacement SPAL fan is available on Amazon - it take a bit of fiddling to fit it in the original Buell mount.

While the engines are known to have the occasional leak, they're much better than the older HD engines. The two PCV leaks will throw oil everywhere. Check them and replace the grommets - they're almost certainly hardened, then give the engine a good clean with engine degreaser and a 'gentle' pressure washer. Then watch for any other source of leakage.

IIRC, I bought grommets at my local HD dealer. I check with them before I order anything online - there are several Buell numbers in their system.
