Any advice on how to assess fuel level?

Hello, I am looking for some advice. Bought a low mileage 2006 Ulysses. The fuel pump was basically in crumbles because it corroded in the tank. I replaced it along with the fuel filter and pressure regulator. Unfortunately the low fuel sensor doesn’t work. My problem is sometimes when I go to start the bike the starter takes all the battery voltage and the trip odometer resets so I have no reliable way to keep track of fuel level. Wondering if anyone has run into this or has a good solution. I need a dip stick or some kind of fuel gauge.

Get a better battery and the Odometer won't re-set. Yours is either cheap or bad. 220CCA minimum. The amazon 200CCA ones won't do it. Harley and Deka both make good ones.
Or fix the thermocouple. I believe Barrett on here bought them all and might have some left. 7 min job, might as well fix it.

+1 on the battery. If you live (or ride) where it gets really cold, I'd avoid the Lithium batteries.

I'm on the Redneck Riviera, and have had pretty good luck with the NoCo battery from Amazon. Saying that, I can tell the battery isn't happy when it's below 40 F.

Thanks Shaughn

Got bike a new Deka battery for Christmas and it seems to have fixed it he odometer reset issue. Thanks everyone, and Merry Christmas to you all. I still haven’t mustered the energy to open the fuel pump again though to change the low fuel sender. Lazy bum I am.
