    Project advice

I don't have anything to add to what Cooter and 3419 have said. I do appreciate the kind words. I will answer questions and help with anything I can, even EFI conversion (not cheap nor easy). However if someone tells you to not do something, especially for safety reasons, and you do it...

LAP bought rights to the Buell name as well.

    Do you lane split?

I lane split, for quite a many years, in Cali. I've been sideswiped twice (went down first time, second time stayed up) but never a door opened on me. Study has shown accidents from lane splitting are less ... damaging(? can't think of better word) ... to the rider than when not lane splitting.

Considering a Blast for my wife -- any thoughts on this listing?

The story of the dumpster is relatively common knowledge, factory test bikes and in-process builds were dumped rather than spend time (time=money) on finishing them. Fire sale the finished inventory, trash the rest, wipe hands and walk away.

Considering a Blast for my wife -- any thoughts on this listing?

Erik didn't dislike the Blast, he actually said he enjoyed it for what it was, in other interviews and videos. He hated that it became the symbol of Buell, instead of the sportbikes like he had intended. I have spoken to him about Blasts specifically, this is first-hand knowledge.

    Blast 03 starting problems

So it sounds like it DID start, you just didn't want to let it warm up to idle down. Change your fuel, it's probably bad. If nothing else has changed, then start it and let it idle/run so it can clean itself out.

2009 Buell Ulysses XB12x with 2750 miles What is it worth?

Why do you people insist on putting XB questions in the Blast section? ffs -Moved-

Now I want a blast. Talk me out of it.

Mine was originally using a Walbro fuel pump and adjustable FPR, everything else was XB system; this was when I was still using the Blast frame with a Firebolt subframe. Since I switched it to a Firebolt frame, I'm using the XB pump as well now. I'm considering changing that back to something...

Now I want a blast. Talk me out of it.

They didn't make them fuel injected. We built them ourselves. Loose1 did his first, I followed, then there's a couple more at least. Here's mine:

    No more Pirelli Diablo!

Maybe they are gone, then. I read elsewhere they replaced the Diablo with the Angel?

    Buell Frankenblast

The swingarm does bolt-on, I can confirm. Blast neck is also longer so the XB stem is too short. When I put my Blast triples on my XB frame, I had to use spacers; not ideal, but works fine while I finish everything else.
