    Anyone near Lafayette, Indiana?

A couple months late, but central Indy right here.

What other skills do you have?

It seems many around here are in general "skilled". I myself have a knack for designing loudspeakers, and tuning speaker systems in general. I knew at 10 years old I wanted to design speakers, or be around audio in some way. I make a living as an acoustic engineer, so I think that turned out...

Feel free to give me a hard time about this, but I'm excited!

Nice new ride, enjoy your ride the way you want to. I've had a few different HD models, still have an 06 sporty. The exhaust note makes all the sound you need imo. Curious how that 114 does, I have not ridden one.

    Dick or not a dick?

Unless said person caused me actual harm, I could not let another human suffer without at minimum calling for help. Let's assume said dumbass is a younger rider, didn't you ever do stupid **** when you started out? It's likely they will learn their lesson if they survive.

    2008 xb12 opinions please

These are within 150 miles of Kansas City, doesn't include all the Firebolts, or "9's" I saw either. You will find one if you keep looking, they pop up all the time. Keep checking CL, and Cycle Trader, Ebay... https://springfield.craigslist.org/mcy/d/07-buell-xb12s/6658289387.html...

    Ram/Phone mount ideas and solutions.

I don't feel mounting the phone on the bike is the best option in my opinion. If you are involved in an accident your phone will be thrown around with the bike. Assuming it survives, you can be sure it isn't near your body when you come to a stop. I keep mine in my jacket pocket so it stays...

DIY: ZTL2 Front Brake Air Scoop

I think you can get those deer whistlers for around $7 at Walmart, no need to go through all that trouble.

    "FNG" XB12 owner w/?'s

I understood that, and of course using any kind of oil will help with corrosion prevention. I was just providing all in one product option that is better suited for the job.

    "FNG" XB12 owner w/?'s

Don't use a chain lube, it's just messy and not really an appropriate product. Go get some CRC electrical contact cleaner/degreaser, its a blue can and available pretty much everywhere. Use some shop rags around the area when you use an aerosol product, it can be a little messy.

    cases for touring

You should really get an XB12X as it is exactly what you are describing. You can convert an SS by getting an "X" subframe, seat etc. It will cost more money in the end, but you can always sell some parts to offset the others.

What do you do often that makes you the happiest?

Dude!, that looks hella fun. CR500s were the shiz back in the day, I had its evil 4 wheeled friend Quadzilla! LT-500

What do you do often that makes you the happiest?

I have way too many hobbies, so I'll stick to the big ones. Motorcycles (riding/wrenching), quads, golf carts, and other stuff that is "mobile". My biggest hobby which is also my job, designing speakers (acoustic engineer). I can't seem to get enough of audio equipment either. Sprinkle in a...

    Warning: Aftermarket levers

I just got new CRG shortys and noticed they pushed in on the piston more than the original lever. There was no indication it would cause an issue as there was no drag. I didn't want to take any chances so I made it fit like my oem lever. My OEM lever did not have an air gap at all, so I did...

    2003 XB9R Rebuild

I purchased a set of stands from GPI Industries. https://www.gpiindustries.com/stands I got the ones that are mandrel bent (GP PRO series), NOT the two piece version(GP PRO series II). They are still out of stock on the steering head lift portion, so I made an adapter for the right fork leg...

    AFV Values

From my research the AFV is never constant, and will move around within reason. It would seem a value from about 90-110 being considered normal. Your description would seem to fall under the normal category. Others with more experience may offer a better answer.

    It's finally road worthy

I used to think the common leaks were always owner induced. As an example possibly from some owners using improper warm up time before really getting on it. Without any obvious issues, I really think it just comes down to tolerance in the mating surfaces, and or total stack up tolerances with...

    It's finally road worthy

I used a silver paint pen to color the letters. Next set of tires I'll pay a 10 spot for a child to do it.

    It's finally road worthy

Because the rear base gasket shows sign of blowby, both push rod covers show signs of leaking. I been around HDs long enough to know the signs. I'm not worried about it right now though.
