    Spark Ping

Hey guys, I know I've been MIA, but I've discovered my intake seals are leaking, so I'll be tackling that. I c.hecked back when I first picked up the bike and never did again, but either I didn't check well enough or it recently developed. Either way I already had the james ones and the tool...

    Checking Static Timing without ECMSpy

Thanks for all the advice, everyone, and I appreciate putting my concerns in context. Letting my know I'm barking up the wrong tree is helpful. I don't have a stock map, and I'm nervous to trust maps you can find online. My questions surrounding TDC were because the instructions I read made it...

    Checking Static Timing without ECMSpy

Hey guys. I'm still working through the checklist of things potentially related to spark pinging, and wanted to properly set my static timing, since I had replaced my ignition sensor and just marked the position manually when installing the new one, and matched it up. I don't have ECM spy, but...

    Spark Ping

Hey guys, haven't able to get out for a ride. Haven't tracked down a true stock tune, but reached out to rev-mo to see if he'll provide. In the meantime, I've reflashed the "original" Jardine tune that worked well previously, reset AFV, and re-set TPS. Going to start there and go for a ride and see.

    Spark Ping

Thanks, cooter. I've been running premium fuel from the corner circle k, but just filled up with chevron partly for this reason. I also have it on my list to check static timing to ensure it's set correctly. With regards to lower temps, that will be tough to test here in phoenix in the next 8...

    Spark Ping

Hey all, my 2007 XB12S w/ Jardine, open airbox ,and buelltooth tune for jardine is having what I believe is some spark ping. I previously thought it was just a rattle somewhere that I couldn't identify, but after revving in neutral in the driveway after a ride I couldn't replicate. Seems to only...

    Water in fuel

I believe so. It was running well and tested at exactly 40 psi. When I installed the new one I think it went in at a bit of an angle and pinched the o-ring, causing it to break when I seated it all the way down. It's worth noting I never had performance issues with the old regulator (I don't...

    Water in fuel

But that takes time and I wanna riiiiiide! J/k, thanks for the reminder. I made sure to do all that back when I rebuilt he pump, but got a little hasty these last couple times and paid for it.

    Water in fuel

Well it turns out I thought it was a zebra when I really just had a horse. Fuel was fine, and when I checked my fuel pressure it was only going to 10 psi when priming then immediately dropping to zero. I didn't wanna do it, but pulled my pump assembly a THIRD time (first to replace regulator...

    Water in fuel

Thanks guys. No more time to work today, but I'll be back at it tomorrow. I'll get the airbox base plate off and disconnect the fuel line from the rail and flush the line JIC there's some still there. You are correct in my lack of a good battery charger, but my o'reilly is literally around the...

    Water in fuel

Alright, so I put a freshly charged battery in, added 2 gal of fresh fuel with Heet additive, and started cranking. Hard to start ,but eventually fired up and idled smoothly for about 3 seconds before quitting. Kept firing it back up and would idle then die shortly after. Sometimes it would not...

    Water in fuel

Thanks, guys. Drained tank, dropped off battery to charge and picked up some Heet to add to the fresh fuel. Hopefully everything's okay to sit a day till I can finish the job tomorrow. Cooter - when you mention flushing the system so I don't have to keep cranking. Are you talking about...

    Water in fuel

Well, I'm an idiot. I got my bike all back together and was so excited to fire it up I think I put bad gas in it. Bike was hard to start, sputtered, coughed and died. I didn't realize I used my old gas can until after, and realized some water had probably made it's way in there. I obviously...

    We're goin' racin'!

When I used to race karts my dad named our team "RSD Racing" for rubber-side-down. I wanted a more serious name because I was a super duper serious kart racer.....but in hindsight it was a fun name, and I wasn't writing the checks for the parts I broke...

    Rocker box gasket service

Not trying to be a jerk here, but the part for the intake seal is the intake seal(s). If you google buellxb intake seal you will find all sorts of info. Some people swear by the james intake seals with the lip, others say those are too much of a pain to get to fit right and to just use OEM.

    Rocker box gasket service

probably 3-4 hours, going verrry slowly, to rotate down. More like 1-2 to get it back together. And yes, PCV would be an extremely quick job.

    Rocker box gasket service

His first post said rear rocker is leaking. Honestly, it depends on your room and how quickly you want to ride. I had high hopes of replacing all sorts of stuff, but I was working in a carport with limited hours, so I opted to just rotate and replace what was leaking, nothing more. Rotation...

    Rocker box gasket service

I'm not sure I follow. The crane sounds smart for lifting off the frame when fully disconnected, but I don't see how it helps in a rotation. When I did my rotation I left the lift under the engine without fully locking off the valve and it slowly lowered down to the point where the engine was...

    Rocker box gasket service

34:19 should be able to weigh in here, but I know he's all for lifting the frame off the motor vs. just a rotation. I've gotta say, after my first rotation last month, I was surprised at how tight the access still is. Given it was my first time, I wasn't feeling up for completely dropping the...
