TPS reset trouble and error code 21

Alright, I'll try to be careful of repeated starts. Already racked up a few this afternoon, hopefully things aren't too fouled up already. I'd replaced the intake manifold seals (found a leak), and since I'd not reset it since I got the bike it seemed as good a time as any. You know, one more...

TPS reset trouble and error code 21

Hey Cooter, Alright, I'll give that a try and see if doing it the way the manual specifies yields different results. I do have a stock muffler and it is a 2006.

TPS reset trouble and error code 21

Hey gang, Need some support, as I've gone and done a silly thing. I just reset the TPS in my Uly and I've made it run yet worse. The bike won't even run now for a few seconds, popping and stuttering all the while. Here's the procedure I followed: 1. Backed out idler screw to 0.0 degrees...

    2006 Ulysses Intake Manifold Seals

I can appreciate that sentiment. I suppose there's a fine balance between going to fish for yourself instead of heading straight for the advice of accomplished fishermen...if you get my meaning. At any rate, Barret seems to have dropped the part numbers I need, which I confirmed by doing my...

    2006 Ulysses Intake Manifold Seals

Word, yes, I'd seen the manifold wrench mentioned, but I wasn't sure exactly what to look for. Thanks for posting those images! Should be all good for now.

    2006 Ulysses Intake Manifold Seals

Would you happen to know off hand the part number for the stock seals? Once again, I'm riding an 06' Ulysses. Thanks so much for your reply!

    2006 Ulysses Intake Manifold Seals

Hey gang, From anyone who's replaced the intake manifold seals, can you advise me of any catch 22s and suggest a list of tools? The manual makes it look suspiciously easy. It's my next challenge, and I'm wondering on a scale of 1-10 how difficult the job can be. Sincerely, Mr.B

    Troubleshooting advice: Rough running XB

UPDATE: Today is the day, a friend of mine has kindly offered me the use of his garage space and tools to get the job done, including a floor jack! Looks like I won't have to MacGyver or hack a solution after all. I'll let you all know how it goes, with any luck she'll be street worthy again...

    Troubleshooting advice: Rough running XB

Hey Opto, Thanks so much for the tips and advice. I did in fact get my rebuild kit from Barrett, the guy is a gentleman and a scholar! If that drive belt would fit on my 06' Uly, I might be interested in taking it off your hands. I noticed mine is a tad frayed. -Mr. B Man

    Troubleshooting advice: Rough running XB

Hey gang, My fuel pump rebuild kit arrives here tomorrow! In anticipation for the job I'm wondering if any can provide some advice on how I could MacGyver a way to get my bike up in the air enough to drop the swing arm down to access the fuel pump. I don't have a jack stand or anything similar...

Agreed, but what else was I going to do while I wait for my dongle to arrive! For science I suppose.

    Troubleshooting advice: Rough running XB

Here here, Fort-Nine speaks and I will listen! K100 next time for sure (if anything), oxidation is no bueno... I've already reached out to Mr.Barrett, who's a solid guy. I'm looking to get a rebuild kit as early as next week! I'll also make sure to inspect the wiring, filters, and hoses when I...

    Troubleshooting advice: Rough running XB

UPDATE: Was able to access my ECU with ECMspy today, and found two historical trouble codes stored which were for the throttle being stuck open and closed. No other codes listed at present, which is pretty cool. Seafoam also didn't work. Still experiencing some pretty bad lean surging, and...

ECMs, and drivers, and software...oh my!

UPDATE: Contact has been made! Finally was able to find a solution to communicate with my ECU in a virtual environment (Windows 7). For those interested, the trick was in properly configuring my host hardware's serial ports to communicate with that of my virtual machine. Here's how it goes. If...

Well if you do happen to remember, definitely drop me a line. It's been quite the undertaking so far...what a finicky piece of software.
