You better love the OE mirrors to want them, they're silly expensive. Not haha silly, like WTF silly. :upset:

    My new-to-me project 1125R

What a great find! Man they are SO different from XB's in almost every way. So happy you're getting it together for a new life, they are so much better on the road than languishing in the dark. I got a huge stash of parts, some billet goodies, Barkers exhaust, even OE mirrors! and a whole...

    Different subframes?

The short versions were the most common including the City-x, Scg, S, SX, SL. The long versions of XB's are fairly rare and include the Ss and STT. The fuel tank is 4.5 gallons vs. 3.8*, and the pillion section of the seat is obviously much bigger when you see them side by side. The rear tire...

06 buell xb12r, no start currently

The PO was an "idiot" but you have caught it on fire while working on it... twice?? Ya, walk away or take it to a mechanic. This simple machine is well beyond your skill level.

    Different subframes?

Yes the whole run from 2003-2010 there is a 'short' and a 'long' but you are probably seeing the mod that was popular a decade+ ago where they would space the lower subframe mounts up to make the tail higher. Twin motorcycles, Diesel-Moto, etc.

    Running Track Bike without Fan

Weight matters, but much, much, less in a torqu-ey bike. The fan weighs less than if you skipped breakfast, but since you've already gutted the crap out of it... Contrary opinion, but fact: The fan is only effective under 25mph or less. So when you get off track, go straight to your pits. Put...

2004 XB12R Crank but No Start - long time reader, first time posting

98% sure you fouled the plugs from repeated start attempts without riding it. Replace them or clean them VERY well. The BuellRule is that if you start it, RIDE it. They have a very long, and very rich, cold start cycle. The XB line responds very well to Iridium plugs as well.

    'Rubber Band Drive' - Barrett

I admire your desire to find a comparable solution. This is just one of those things where a Mfg locks down the specs just for future parts sales. They never plan to be obsolete, lol. I bought a $123 o-ring today. Viton, about 2" around. Ya:upset:

Round 4 of CRA was rough. Crashed out of first (LAST LAP!) and popped the Tech 10 airbag suit. Fixed the bike and crashed out of the first race, 2nd place on Sunday, now sans airbag:/ Broke my hip in 2 spots, 5 ribs, and a collar bone. I wouldn't recommend it. But last Monday... had a wildly...

? On rear axle bolt specs.

Since you're holding the new axle, the answer is literally in your hands. It will be a VERY expensive tap to buy. Take a 6 pack to your local machine shop and see if they're friendly enough to loan you what you need. Alternatively get a proper fitting bolt and cut 4 perpendicular grooves in the...
