Speed Sensor Fail Again? Need Help.

Ofcourse I keep my eyes on the road. I am getting the bike prepped for sale since I will be moving soon and the fact that my DD is on its last leg. I am afraid that if I dont get these things fixed I will never sell it or I will take a bath in the final price. Would you want to buy a...

Speed Sensor Fail Again? Need Help.

Update: After a week at the dealership and over a hundred dollars in "diagnostics", they found nothing wrong with the bike other than suggesting I buy a new rear tire. I love throwing away my hard earned money on absolutely no progress. Once I get the bike back from the dealership I notice the...

Speed Sensor Fail Again? Need Help.

I inspected all the wires again last night and nothing looks lose or out of place. I am taking her to the shop, where hopefully they can plug in a new cluster and see if that fixes it. I will post the results once I get the bike back.

Speed Sensor Fail Again? Need Help.

Does anyone know if the speed sensor wiring goes directly to the instrument cluster or does it pass though something before the signal is received by the instrument cluster.

Speed Sensor Fail Again? Need Help.

Bike: 2006 XB9SX CityX I recently replaced my speed sensor on top of my crank case, and got the opportunity to take her out for a ride this weekend to test it out. For the first 30 miles everything seemed fine, but just like with my old one, the speedometer needle would just quit and do...

    Selling Motorcycle Helmets

I guess the ruling from the panel is that I should not try to sell my helmet.....no one would trust the quality....and why would they? Serves me right for buying an expensive one that I only used for one season. I will keep it as a back up incase i every lose or damage my new one. Thanks for...

    Selling Motorcycle Helmets

I remember something in my MSF class about never buying a used helmet, because you never really know the condition of the helmet and your life could depend on it. This leads me to believe that I may have trouble selling a helmet in the future if people are instructed not to buy used helmets...

    City riding essentials?

I live and ride in Bmore, and I would say my number one tip for city riding is to be seen. It's far too easy to blend in to traffic and buildings if you are wearing all black. I have a bright red helmet and jacket, so I can be seen coming around corners and such. Also a good pair of non slip...

    WTB - Lightning Fender Eliminator

Does anyone have a Fender eliminator that would fit a 2006 XB9? Used/New - its all good, just as long as it works. A complete kit would be appreciated.

    Gauge Cluster Freeze

I agree with poster above. First check to see if the needles sweep. If they do its a good chance that the cluster is working just fine. If they do not sweep it may be time to find a new one. If the needles sweep fine and the RPM guage still does not react the way it should while riding...

Battery Tender for the Winter Months

For those who have to store the bike over the winter, does anyone have any good advice for using a battery tender? Do I leave it on 24/7 for the next 4-5 months or is once a week good enough. Battery is about 2 years old. I am looking at this guy since its small and seems to have some...

    XB9SX Milage on full tank?

I was getting on average, 132 miles on my 2006 XB9 before the fuel light came on. Now the fuel light circuit is faulty and my light is on all the time. So every 115 miles I fill up just in case. For my long rides (100 miles +) I would sit on the passenger seat and just lean forward to get a...

What kind of cover do you use for your XB?

I use this one: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/63/1425/ITEM/Nelson-Rigg-Deluxe-All-Season-Cover.aspx It fits well over a XB and it does its job but I think after the heat of the summer the elastic band at the bottom has lost its stretch. Luckily it has a hook and a grommet that you...

    Lightning Sightings in DC/Baltimore Area

I finally saw a fellow Bueller around my area, two in fact. I was riding south on I-95, and spotted on I-95 north around exit 43 (rt. 100), a black lightning (2006 xb9 possibly) and hero blue lighting (2009).
