MAP/Baro sensor on XB Mod help

Been there, done that. Don't remember, which of the sensors off a 1125 I used, but it was a stock Bosch PS-AA sensor. I installed it in the rear side of the airbox base. Using the sensor from the 1125 is the easiest way, as you can copy all baro data from the 1125's ECM. Baro correction is more...

    Convert *.bin to *.xpr

Of course you can do as you like. But, just as a side note: I created EcmSpy, I designed the XPR file format and I talked to Mark Mansur how to best integrate Buell's ECM to Tuner Pro. Ask those "internet experts" what they did. And I can safely tell you: there is no "long way" which would make...

what speedo should my 2007 xb9 have?

The cluster probably was probably taken from an older model. Newer models have more teeth on the 5th gear wheel than older. I do not remember, was it 48 vs 42 or whatever?

    Convert *.bin to *.xpr

These files are fully identical. It's as simple as renaming them.

Continuing Saga: O4 XB12R AFV Dropping

This is of course incorrect, as a failing coil causes a lean reading at the O2 sensor.

    High AFV on XB12SS Long

The airbox inlet (be it the hole through the frame or the newer version of the airbox lid) is not that limited, that an additional incoming air flow will have a great impact in fuelling. Definitely not in LCL operations. At WOT and high RPM (7000+) old style airboxes might show rising AFV one...

AFV cylinder difference keeps running out of control.

AFV is computed in closed loop operation, and there a narrowband O2 sensor will work perfectly well.

    Underpowered/too lean?

You are fully right, if the ECM is running in OL only, there are no corrective actions applied, hence no data available except a lean - rich transition from the NB O2 sensor. My impression was the question aimed at if it's preferable to force the ECM in OL, next tune the maps using a WB O2...

    Underpowered/too lean?

With 6-7 data queries per second you are missing 50 - 90% of all ignition cycles. Taking this into account, swapping an qualitative analysis with a quantitative one will not really increase accuracy. The second point is that many people forget the goal of tuning the ECM: it's not to get a...

    Underpowered/too lean?

I disagree. The ECM does not care about the real deviation from stoich in CL, it cares about what it thinks the deviation is. No one knows, how this is computed from the NB O2 voltage, and if the ECM indicates a 10% offset, it's not said, that the mixture is 10% off.

    Blank ECM

Sounds like power/ground failure because of broken wire to me. Would explain the CEL lit (self-test) and why no codes are stored.

Richer fuel map for a standard XB

This is not the case. AFV is always limited, and always checked against its threshold values.

Richer fuel map for a standard XB

I never tuned the WOT part of a map using a WB O2 sensor, as I do not have access to an EC dyno, and anything else would be a waste of time, budget and fuel.

Richer fuel map for a standard XB

AFV is applied in open loop operation only, whereas EGO correction is applied in closed loop only. AFV is also the reason, snake oil like the mentioned devices will not work. Fuel is added because of a fake temperature signal, EGO corr. removes fuel in CL to get a stoich mixture, AFV is dropping...

Richer fuel map for a standard XB

Limiting AFV has nothing to do with closed loop operations. With a default WOT correction of 110 Buells run at about AFR 13.3:1 at WOT.
  19. G

Richer fuel map for a standard XB

For a stock bike, no AFV changes are needed. Buells do not run lean on a stock map, because CL and OLL will help to avoid this.

XB12 scg '08 -> ECMDroid shows TPS=85% although throttle FULLY OPEN

The throttle will commonly open to only 85°, as this is the value set in the ECM (http://www.ecmspy.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?ecm=79&offset=22) - at least for DDFI-2 (approximatley 5° are needed for idle speed), but I am not sure if this is the case too with DDFI-3. Are you sure you are watching...
