    I have noticed that sometimes when I turn the key on, that my dash doesn't always turn on. I have to wiggle the key a bit and then it powers up the dash and guages reset. Shouldn't the key turing the ignition on complete the circuit to turn the lights on?

    coasting.....

    I coast to a stop all the time as well to save my clutch. I live in FL and there are not many places to coast. But I have noticed the "slow down" factor as well when coasting.

    I will try that as well. Thanks for the heads up on that one. And thanks to all who have chimed in as well with ideas. I called HD and they won't even talk to you about it. "Just bring it in and for $69.95 we can diagnose it for you" Damn stealership.

    I can only find 1 ground between the fork and the frame(one by the VIN#) and it was clean and tight, and the one under the seat by the battery was the same. Boots removed, and replaced the bulbs too just in case. Good tight fit on both.

    That is what I was thinking, that a wire might be grounding to the frame. But why when I press the "high beam signal" button do the lights come on? Is that because they are grounding to that switch? Where do the bulbs ground to from the back of the bulbs? The frame where the fork bearings are...

    Auxiliary Power?

    Made my own harness with an in-line fuse. Has a 12v plug and a 2 prong trailer style quick disconnect for a battery tender. Hope this helps. If you need more info shoot me a PM.

    When I start the bike, and try to press the signal button nothing happens. The lights only turn on when the kill switch is off. The lights turn on but very slowly, and are dim. The noise is not to loud, kinda faint.

    So got home and replaced both bulbs (both old bulbs were still good, but replaced anyway). Took fairing off and traced down all wires and no corrosion. I can't see where the ground wires for the bulbs go after the plastic connector? The 2 black wires that ground into the frame by the steering...

    Oh ok I saw the boots last night when I was checking the wires. So just slide the boots back and remove the metal clips and the bulb pulls right out. That is easy enough.     Checked the pins and they are fine. Good connection and no corrotion. Havent taken the fairing off yet to check the bulbs to see if they are blown. Going to try and do that tonight.
