I cant get the tps percentage to go below 0.8. I turn it up and then back down and no matter what I can't get it to zero out. And help would be appreciated. And I am using Dave's video

When it gets it 0.8 and I keep turning it a few turns the throttle kind of starts to stick closed. This is my first tps reset.

It may not be zero, until after you click "reset". That is the purpose of the TPS reset; to tell the ECM that the lowest point will now be called "zero".

I see. I just seen in the video that he made his go to zero. But all is good. Just waiting for this thing to warm up so I can set the final idle

I would've asked the same question. [up]

Give us a follow up on this. Wanting to do one as well, but have read some recent posts with a few guys having some challenges so I've just held off.

If things haven't changed since the last time it was done, it will already be at zero when it is backed all the way out. If it is not, it needs to be reset.
:)

... or if it reaches zero before it is fully backed out.
these are the two only valid reasons for a tps reset.

Ok well the first problem was that the tps stopped at 0.8 and wouldn't drop anymore. All is good after resetting and setting final idle. Second problem was after I hit reset ecmspy disconnected, I had read some people having that problem so I twisted the throttle a little after it said it reset and noticed it was t connected anymore. So I reconnected and it read zero, then set the tps and let idle to set the final idle. Anyone who hasnt done this, make damn sure you see if it's still connected after reset before setting the tps. Really easy.

Yes. Also, you want to look at the voltage when turning it down. To make sure it doesn't decrease anymore. The point is to get it to the point where the bolt at the end of the idle adjustment cable is no longer touching the tab that connects to plate inside the throttle body. After that it should be completely closed. Lightly twist the throttle closed and you should feel a slight stick when you open it again. Reset it and then turn it back up as usual. My ecmspy does that also.. just hit the connect icon whenever switching from tab to tab as a habit.

Well I wasn't paying attention to the voltage. It the throttle was definitly "sticking" when I tried to open. Also when I thought something was wrong not dropping to zero I pulled the airbox cover so I could see the plate. I guess I did it right because it runs and idles great now. I appreciate all the speedy responses because I was outside with the bike connected hoping the battery wasn't going to go dead from the headlights being on.
