first post on this forum. (not my first time posting to a forum based site)

just bought the topic title machine this past saturday. left rear turn signal is not working, I went to replace the bulb and discovered that the wiring is rusted and broke. I have tried fishing it out to re-do a connection but am not having any luck. any one have a write up for new turn signal installation?

welcome to the forum, if you can't repair it, kbfnail has all four turn signals up for sale for 25 bucks

who really needs turn signals. lol. but id just get a new one. pretty cheap. buellsterparts will have

The turn signals are super easy to take out, and replacing the wiring should be super simple. If your some what mechanically inclined then tear into it - or download the free pdfs up top and look through the service manual.

Congradulations on the new bike! While you have the turn signals off you could shorten them 1.5 inches. Not to hard to do, and they look SO MUCH BETTER.

Better question, how do you get a 6 year old to stop breaking them off when he's only trying to get the lawn mower out. Never mind answered my own question....... Move the damn mower. Lol

So are you saying having a 6 year old is the best way to shorten the turn signals .....:p

It was 6 yrs ago that i did mine. Just remove them from the bike there is a treaded stud that bolts them on and the wires go thru the stud. Remove the stud and cut the plastic to the new length. Then i found a couple bolts that where the length i needed and drilled a hole in them for the wires. Reassemble and enjoy.

I think this one already has the shorter signal mod.
I am not for certain though. This is my first Buell and first sports bike. (effin love it)
ill post up some pics for you guys later today.

Any recomendations for a GOOD set of LED's???

Not really the best way, and certainly not an effective way! But in the process of teaching him how to mow the yard......... When in doubt use more force. That's his motto.

so i tackled this issue on Saturday, and it was extremely easy.
The ground wire was the broken wire, and it was only broken right at the contact point where it was soddered to a coil. (which had the hot (red) wire running directly through it.) I simply restripped a small section on the end of the black then re-soddered it back on.
BOOM!!!! lights are operational.
