Hi I purchased a buell firebolt xb9r from a bank repo. They dont have keys and the dealer here wont order a set unless i have title(all I have is my title app) is there anyway to unplug the tumbler or cross a wire? I have never heard the bike run or know the millage. All I know it was laid down on the left side and it needs a mirror, handlebar(the tree is fine) and the tail is scraped. Collant is good oil is good id just like to hear it run.

ohh sorry im just going by what my dad said i never owned a buell only jap bikes but for 500 who wouldnt own 1.

You can take the front fairing off and hot wire it but if you have any hesitation on how to do it I would just wait.

You are going to need a key no matter what otherwise you will be drilling the gas cap lock.

Ya i just want to hear it run. Do you know what 2 wires out of the switch i need to cross? i know there are of them.

it takes 30 days to get it i cant wait that long ill go nuts I tried to convince my dealer to get the key(ill pay) and have his service department do a once over start it etc...etc... and keep the key untill i come back in 30 days but they wouldnt anyone have a friend that can get one pm me.

post a pic of your bike . first

just sounds like to me he is more interested in hearing it runn not worrying about mess anything up and has not not asked anything about how to get gas cap off or new ignition.

I DONT want to jump to any conclusions BUT,

sounds to damn fishy to me hope you all just didnt help some guy steal our buddies BUELL !!

coolant WTF . come on .

lol i diddnt steal it ill post some pics in the morning my garage dosent have lights looking it over more i need tires and a footpeg also, I looked on ebay anyone have handlebars for sale i need the left hand stub.

and if for real repo & $ 500 is worth the wait otherwise I suggest you go get another jap bike.
hell i would buy any buell for $500, running or not if it had a clear & free title to it ..
I.E.. with no lean on it .. well worth . where is it I bet alot of guys & girls on here would jump on that in a heart beat .

if so welcome to the buell family tell us more about it . other than the cheap $500 what made you want the buell.

sue me i have never owned a bike thats not liquid cooled I was told that all the fluids were ok so I assumed it had coolant too. My bad but i prefer my zuki but this was the right time right place and right money sale from the bank.

its in my garage I have title and reg but.. if you read my post the dealer just cares about the title and title app(thing you have to fill out to change it into your name) along with the old title and bill of sale were mailed to the state from my local town office. I diddnt pay the 15.00 for rush because I thought reg would prove ownership.

change the oil in the engine and trans anyways anytime you get a bike &/or car used. you never know how long since the last or if the just put in some crappy oil just to make it look ok to sell it.

that because thats the law(in most states) they dont want to get sued or have any liabilty. cant blame there is some sneaky people out there doing crazy things . bikes are ust to easy to steal and hide or whatever.

plus most not all but most HD Dealers just dont care about buells or helpiing at anything anhyways.

I live in maine so its cold and white now Im thinking of full service tires/oil/filter/brakes. Im also thinking plugs, and how do i check the belt for wear, i dont want to be cranking it down the road and have to do a walk of shame because it blew apart. is there anything else im missing for service?

thank you very good info in that post and yes Ill get some pics up in the afternoon when i get home from work

It's been a long time saying,If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand. All joking aside, get yourself a manual for the year of the bike and go from there.Welcome.
