03 Xb9R strange Noise

So my ladies XB9R has been making a very strange noise and i was wondering if its normal. Its when you turn the key on and the engine is priming. it squeelssssssssssss so loud for about 4 seconds then shuts off and starts. it starts with a little hiccup but always starts and never makes the noise after that. i first thought it was the fan but after hearing it run to cool the bike off after a hot ride i realized it wasnt that. it sounds like it could be the fuel pump but its just such a loud squeal idk and its been doing it for months. doesnt seem to affect the way the bike is riding, and i always just ignored it until recently a friend of mine has a xb9r as well and brought it over and we went riding and his never made that noise. he had no idea what it could be, but im telling you its loud. obviously ill post a video when i get home so you pros can take a listen and hopefully help me solve this issue. thanks!

Fuel pump.

Mine is sometimes loud and sometimes quiet(er)...I just figured it depends on how much fuel it's gotta prime. When you first turn the key on and ignition switch to run, the fuel pump primes. And it is very audible...apparently the newest version of the XB fuel pumps are quieter. If it is a fuel pump going out a few things would happen. the fuel pump would take a lot longer to prime or may never initially shut off before you start the bike or it would crank over a lot longer before it fires up. Mine is loud but it always lights right up!!
