The bike is in like new condition and ran when I bought it.... only 550 original miles. I parked it in the garage and went to ride it a month later and it wouldn't start. Battery is good, all fuses good, new plugs, fuel pump comes on when key is turned. I have checked most of the obvious problem areas. Good spark on the plugs. Gas is not really old... I work on a lot of bikes and atvs but this one really has me stumped. When I try to start it, doesn't seem to get fuel but if I open the throttle about a third it will start and idle for about 3 seconds and that's it. Any ideas? Thanks.

will it start if you spray carb cleaner in the throttlr body,if so can you keep it running with the carb cleaner.
how old is not really old on the fuel?

I haven't tried the carb spray yet... I will first thing in the morning, recharging battery tonight. I will probably dump the gas and put in some new 91 too.... I am new to Buell bikes and appreciate all the input.

Pull you plugs and check them as well. Just because you hear the fuel pump running doesn't always mean its working or at least properly. The gas they manufacture these days is crap. This is more likely the culprit. Get in the habit of treating the fuel when you put it away for the season. Check to see if any of our furry little friends mde a nest in your airbox or ate any of the wiring. Hope this helps

The carb spray in the intake makes it run....I hope it is the gas... changing it now and I am going to treat the fuel.

I'd also check plugs next. For some reason these engines foul plugs very easy.

EDIT: ignore me, I should read your post before responding...

I am going to pull plugs and make sure they didn't get fouled while trying to start again... I am noticing what seems like a slight yellow residue while draining the gas... hopefully this is the culprit.... thanks for all the replies so far....

Ok... I drained fuel... yellow residue... pulled and cleaned plugs... still runs with carb cleaner but doesn't seem to be getting fuel... its got a couple gallons of fresh 91.... what's next? Fuel injectors? Pump? All help appreciated... thanks

is the pump extremely noisey? my pump got very loud when it went bad. prob time to check fuel pressure.

What is the best way to check the fuel pressure? I have a tester but need an adapter I think... tried it one way but no reading at all... probably didn't do it right. I had injectors out and watched them in action... appeared to be streaming in pulses with the engine. Anyone know where I can get an adapter if I need on? Thanks
