Today I went to get some gas on my 05 XB12R and got to the pump and went to put my kickstand down and it flew about three feet away. The side stand pivot bolt had come out somewhere along the ride. So my question is I need a replacement one and cant seem to locate one online and the local Harley Dealer said its obsolete. Right now I just have it rigged for the time being. Does anyone know where I can locate a new one.

Please and thank you.

Buellsterparts.com may have a whole new kick stand. Otherwise you might just be able to find a shoulder bolt that fits if you are unable to find one else where.

I just BOUGHT the "sidestand leg service kit" @ the local HD dealer. It was supposed to be a factory recall replacement, but I had to buy it. Total BS.

You have the same kick stand that I had break on my bike last Sunday. The pivot bolt pulls in half and then falls out, the weight of your bike prys the end of you kick stand open, and the bike falls. On Ebay there are some of the same "old" kick stands for $40, the replacement (THE NEW MODEL) with a large pin & clip for a pivot is $67.75 msrp @ HD. Call and have your VIN# ready , see if they will replace the whole thing.

If not, the Kit (part) number you need is L1167.02A8. It includes; a new kick sand leg, Pivot pin, and E clip. $67.75msrp Same @ American Sport Bike.

i just had the same problem, i went to the dealer and they ordered me one. i will get the part number when i get it next week. you are talking about the one that has that huge shoulder on it right? take a pic if you still got it just so we are on the same page.

yes. If you look CLOSE at the silver pin/bolt in the link briarsarmor put up, that's the old style. How can you tell from that pic? Easy. The old style has a hex nut on the pin, for screwing the bolt in the back side of the kick stand. The New silver pin is round. It's a pin that goes through the stand and pivot and "E" clips on the pin in back. The new stand is NOT threaded on the back, it's a large hole for the pin to pass through.

Easy to install. The hardest part is the spring you take off and put on in the up position. Clean it, grease it, put the pin in, clip it, put the spring back on, EASY. I put a pillow between my bike and a wall. Leaned up against the wall away from the side stand (IN 1st GEAR). My stands are at a friends.
