Hey guys!

I'm back, this time with my new (to me) Ulysses.

Some of you may remember by first project, a white xb12s.

I sold the 12s a few months back and found this ulysses instead. I wanted to do some long range rides with my soon-to-be-wife and the 12s simply isn't up to the task. My short review: the 12s turned heads, the 12x is more fun to ride.

This is the most versatile bike I've ever owned. It's a riot.

But... I need to do something about that "turning heads" issue. It's time for some paint. Here are the before pics...

The blue Uly I sent to NZ turned heads when I used it to run some errands. Every time I rode it people stared. My normal bike turned heads because of it's hooligan look (the lack of paint helped the rugged look) and it's sound.

I've liked the white/Black with silver accents on the ulys

Great looking bike, I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. Where in Florida are you? I'm in ft. Myers and just sold my lightning and got a 06 Uly as well.

I'm tempted to go with hero blue wheels. I dunno... I loved the white/ gold combo but, I don't want to just do a re-make of the last bike.

I'm in lakeland dualsport. We'll have to ride sometime! the only other ULYs ive seen around were at daytona and... mine years ago at the lakeland HD dealer. Kind of a funny story. I sat on it about 2 years ago at LHD. I went back about a year later for a test ride and it had FINALLY sold. Turns out, I bought it off the guy who bought it at lakeland. It was meant to be.

That's cool! Funny how that stuff happens. That picture of your S with the canopy of trees looks like myakka state park area. I just rode that this weekend on the way to Sarasota.

Your white bike was pretty sick!!! I like the pic in the top of the post. Congrats on the uly and it looks like youre putting it to good use. I'm hoping to get one eventually. Ride safe

sorry for the lack of updates, been WAY too busy lately.

most of my parts are in.
progrip tank pad, 3000k HID, NOS Buell decals, seat vinyl, and best of all, parts are back from paint!

A couple things not photographed... new LED blinkers, carbon fiber upper fender, and a short windscreen. I'm still considering a tail chop...

i know, i know... Plastidip. The finish isn't as nice as duplicolor trim paint but, it seems to hold up better to rock chips. and this bike will see plenty of trails.

While I'm at it, It's time for an oil change.

aaaaaand the plastics. Pearl white. I was wanting a satin clear on top but, there was some miscommunication between my painter and I. They turned out glossy. and gorgeous.

Hey, if you have a uly tail your thinking about chopping, my buddy has one that's already junk, I'm sure he would like to trade before you ruin a perfectly good tail. I just want to mention it. PM if your up for it.
I don't care about other XB models but if people start messing up Uly parts I get annoyed. There's plenty already messed up out there.

Wow. I totally forgot to update this. I decided to clean the bike up and take some pics this weekend. I headed south and before i could get to any good picture spots I found some dirt roads... which, since owning this bike, I cant resist.

So much for a nice clean bike for pics.

It all started with this ditch. It was full of water and these tires really don't cut it in the muck. oh well.

overall, I really like the white. The orange wasnt "bad, it just lacked the class that the pearl white provides. I don't have many details on this "build" as it was nowhere near as extensive as my lightning. I threw some LED blinkers on... that's about it. The ulysses is a bike for riding, not staring at in the garage. I think that's why I like it so much.
