'09 12ss exhaust

anybody know whats up w/ the outlet on the muffler?

It's to direct the exhaust fumes away from the rider's leg when he's holding the bike up, preventing "stinky leg."

I was noticing the same thing on my '09 XB12Ss...

dave_xb12r seems to think that its to prevent "stinky leg". As he complains that his left pant leg smells of exhaust occasionally. I hsve not had this problem as the outlet points backwards and away from my jeans.

Now as far as preformance goes, I have no idea how a 90 degree bend affects the final numbers...

Does it worry you that yourr exhaust isn't the 'same' an an '07 or '08?

Either that or it was cheaper. I noticed that the 09's dont have the polished tip.

I noticed that too, but I have to be honest, about the only thing polished on my black XB12Ss is the bar-end mirror...

Well they would have changed it on all the models and my 09 12scg as the nice old style.
