hi everyone.
i changed my primary oil yesterday. after a 20 min ride, i went to adjust the chain and noticed the oil to be dark and brown.
i pulled the dipstick on the swingarm and it is the identical color ! my engine oil is seeping into my primary... this explains why the primary oil was a dark brown color...

what seal needs to be replaced ???

yes, both levels are perfect .

the primary oil was new. after 20min, it took on the color of my engine oil.. which is super dirty, brownish...
behind the stator/alternator which are connected to the engine crackshaft, can it be that oil is seeping in from there ? is there a seal there ?

There is a seal on the primary side of the crankshaft that keeps the oils separated. If you really want to know if your oils are mixing you need to add a dye to one of the oils that only shows up under black light. If you put a little in your swingarm and test ride and check the primary oil with the backlight it would answer your question.

i don't want to sound like our dear friend ich....but of course there has to be a large seal on left side of crank where it protrudes from case into primary assembly. if not there would be primary oil sucked into the crankcase cavity on every piston up-stroke....and blow-by compression pumped into the primary as well.

Now it looks like ich! :D

primary oil looks nasty because of the wet clutch, starter gear, etc. Lots of wear components in there.

hey cosworth: here in amish country us non-amish natives have to speak PA dutch which is German but with amish dialect in order to survive. roughly translated your post says...." poetry on left side of motor and blow-by is good my dear." what the hell? :D[up]

Are you sure you didn't just rinse the dirty fluid off the gears/clutch/stator with your clean fluid, which then made the clean fluid appear dirty?

You will never get all of the fluid out without a hot oil flush. It is very normal to see your fluid get dirty right away
