I like my projects like I like my wimmin. Fast, Cheap, and Easy.
I took off my oil fill cap and measured the length of my oil dipstick (to the top of the fill line) at 1.90", then cut it off and drilled a small hole right through the center of the cap.

I used a dremel tool to contour the top

And I bought a A/C temp probe at the Vatozone for $1.99. I think Harbor freight would have them too.

Insert temp probe into cap which is drilled slightly undersize for a leakproof seal.

Then I used Viton o-rings to mark the upper fill line, used engine paint above the line, and scuffed the lower part for easier reading.

And the french say, Voila!

About 20 mins total work time. It's nice to look down and see exactly how hot she is:)

At least it's not a breather mod
I think it's an awesome idea. Thanks for posting. Who cares if it was covered before?
 
Do you guys realize that you are talking to a moderator that was just trying to help

they just dont understand that it makes sense to link all related threads so when you do a search all info is available.
