I did my 1000 miles service recently. I was a little surprised how many things needed adjustment or repair.
I figured the primary chain would need adjustment but when I checked it I noticed the jam nut was loose. I guess that's where the oil was coming from. Fortunately the primary chain wasn't too far out of adjustment, just a little loose.
The clutch cable required a large adjustment. In fact I had to adjust it several times so far. Do the clutch cables on these bikes typically stretch this much?
The high bean housing was loose. Turns out the white plastic clip just didn't fit tight. Some RTV stopped it from vibrating.
There was an extra nut in the plastic tray under the battery. Didn't find anything it came off of, so I guess it's just a bonus part.
The horn still doesn't work. I checked the wiring and there isn't any power going to the horn when you push the button. I'll tear into it further in a few weeks when I pull the bodywork to install my track bodywork.
There was also three or four screws that have backed out. Looks like I will have to expand my use of Loctite.
I don't mind having to keep on top of the service, but I can see where one of these bikes can go downhill quickly with poor upkeep.
