Yeah RT, that ceramic coating does look great. I'm going to consider it when the wrap starts to wear out. Did you have some troubles wrapping your R? It wasn't easy on my Cr, but it wasn't terrible either. Just time consuming with 50' of wrap to pull through each time and keep tight. You used the black wrap, right? What do you think of it so far?

I used white cool it brand i had laying around from Cherry's XB .
I didn't take anything off but the side fairing andheat shield.
have yet to ride it.
I hope this helps with my leg burning up been around 90 here lately and the heat sitting at a light or slow traffic sucks.
I Try to get and idea of leength then cut and wet just that much. Luckily the front is shorter since the first piece was 8 ft to short for the rear just right for the front.
I use the stainless tie straps you can get them at lowes and home depot and all mine is hidded except one spot wich i painted with header wrap paint.

Wasn't a terrible job but by no means is it fun either

RT -

Unfortunatly, the white stuff doesn't last nearly as long as the newer "titanium" (as it's called) stuff lasts.
Where it's protected from flying garbage and too much wind blast, it'll be fine. It's lasted a long time on my Yamaha R1. It's mostly covered by bodywork.
But on the open to the elements on the CR/R Buells...I guess it depends on the miles you drive and if you drive in the rain.

I have side fairings and it is really thick one inch cool it,
Way better than the 2" other crap i had.
according to napa painting the white stuff makes it last longer then any other wrap.
I had it laying around and wanted to see if it helps with the dam heat. LOL

Did you put your heat shield back on, RT? I left mine off for awhile and could tell a decent amount of heat was no longer present on my leg, but it's been 105 here nearly all summer and she still wants to cook me. I used some self tapping short screws and use a big flat washer to keep the wrap from coming loose and put the heat shield back on. That made a good diff as well. I have some snake skins from ASB that I haven't put on yet because if I paint my bike, I don't want have to buy another pair. I've heard good things about them.
