I didn't notice a difference in the throttle pull or smoothness.... no need to adjust the cables after removing the solenoid... it dose not effect the normal throttle operation

p.s. sorry for the late response...

By the way more on topic I love the high bars!!! bike is much much more fun to ride!! just wish it was easier to swap back and forth so I could put the clubmans on for track days... If I ever get around to getting the gear I need for a track day.

Cool. I just did everything. works great. No check engine light - just smooooooooooth! Thanks again.

Installed the bars and denoided- LOVE thenew riding position- Hey I can turn my head!
I hear ya extreme, the clubs would be better at the track.
The only drawback to the bars IMO is the wind. But that aint no biggie.

Installed the high bars and like them. personally, one more inch would have been perfect. I put the 1 inch lower pegs on and i hear they are making two inch lower pegs.

oh-forgot to mention- my wires to the front brake switch are definitely too short. At full right, one of the connectors pulls off. I freed it up as much as possible, but its just too short. I'm gonna whip up some extenders in a few minutes.

Just mounted the tall bars and I love them.
Had a bit of a problem getting the throttle to return in the extreme left hand position but otherwise no problem

Yes, I have the same problem. What you need to do is, unhook the throttle cables from the throttle - striaght the throttle cables - make sure they not twisted - then re-route it without too many bends. That should do it. Good luck.:D

Hi.

I think som of you have been ripped off by your dealer. I just signed the papers for my 1125CR and am getting the higher bars fitted by the dealer.
Here in Norway the 1125CR comes with the higher bars as an accessory when you buy the bike. The dealer does not pay for the higher bars as they come with the bike. This is also mentioned in a test a norwegian MC-magazine had of the 1125CR...

I know the 2010's come with the high bars, but none of the 09's (at least early ones) came with that option.. I dont mind paying the $200 for the kit seeing as I got the bike for $5750. Its just getting it all to fit right. Even the dealers have to struggle with the change over!! :[smirk]

Not to get too far off the topic, but I bought '09 1125cr brand new straight from the dealer with the high bar "kit" already installed. One thing I have noticed is that my throttle does not "snap" back when I twist it, but rather "creep" back to zero. Thinking this would be an issue covered under the "UNLIMITED MILE-2 YEAR FULL FACTORY WARRANTY" (booming announcer voice) I took it to my local HD stealership. They told me that unless the dealer I bought it from (two states away) recorded the bar upgrade in the VIN, I'm on my own as far as fixing it goes.[down][mad][down]

To make a long story long, that's something to keep an eye out for when installing the kit. They told me that there is some sort of spacer next to the throttle body that needs to be "squeezed" together or something... obviously it hasn't bothered me enough yet to tear into my bike. Just a heads up!

The bke I am getting is a 2009 with the clubman bars fittet. The higher bars was in a seperate box that came with the bike... They are mounting it for me before I pick up the bike.

Maskido, They are correct that you need to "tweak" the cable bracket that the throttle end of the cables bolt to. There is a post somewhere in the badweb archives that has a well documented and photo detailed write up. I used it when I did my install and it worked like a champ!

Yup - I just did the throttle body bracket "tweak" and it made all the difference on my install - no binding from lock to lock.

Just bought mine off Ebay yesterday. Still waiting for the service manual i ordered from the dealer. Going to try it myself and see how it goes.. Is there a thread on here that has a play by play?? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

So I got my bar kit today. Was going to wait till tomorrow evening to start, but we all know how that goes! :) I have the bars on and everything bolted on, but need to bleed the fluid on both lines. My question reffers back to an earier post about tweaking something?? My cables seem ok, but the throttle kinda rolls back and not all the way..It doesnt snap back. Anyone who has any info on what they did to make thiers better would be GREAT!

My suggestion would be to search the 1125r section of badweb for highbars.... its been beaten to death over there!

I tried the badweb site. Didnt find much so I did it myself. Took me awhile but its done! Had to mess with the cables a bit. They didnt quiet seem long enuff. I bought the selinoid plug but its on order. So to avoid the engine light, i just took the old plug end, cut it and spliced the wires till i get the new one. It was a pain, but now I know my bike alittle better and that always helps down the road. Thanks for all who gave thier input!

My dealer in the UK wanted to stitch me up with some silly price to change from the clubman's bars to the higher bars. I argued that the demo bike I rode had the highbars (and it was an 09 bike). We agreed that they would change the bars FOC at the first service.

The new bars really change the feel of the bike and as someone else wrote "I can now turn my head" which is just as well 'cos those silly mirrors are even worse with the high bars.

The bike is more fun to ride with the highbars and less of a serious scraper. One disadvantage I have noted is the front wheel seem more likely to launch its self skywards
:D
