1125r possible Stator deal

Hey all I have an 09 1125r with almost 4XXX miles on it and already had to replace the VR with a Mosfet upgrade one. And am now currently waiting and praying the my stator does not fail me. So im assuming by everyones posting on here that it is a great chance like 90% haha. I know EBR sells one for like $900. I always try ebay but I never see one anymore. I called around and a local harley dealer says he has a brand new OEM 2008 Stator and its $650. should I go for that one? buy the EBR one? or wait and pray it doesnt break on me? what are the real chances of my stator failing? once i hit 5XXX miles am i pretty safe of the reliability?

Is that 09 not covered by the warranty anymore? Should have bought the extended coverage for another 4 years.
The new stator should work. there are no promises though. Keep all the lights burning and fans turning to get rid of the extra voltage.
How is the fuel pump. Had 4000 miles and that pooched too.

When u go to the 08 stator u have to go to the 08 rotor too. Did u price that as well? You will need a nut as well. I think it all totals to a little over 1200 bucks and thus is the reason most go with EBR. But if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Did you look into getting it re-wound by a local motor/transformer shop? I know some of the guys were talkin bout that bein cheap ($130ish) if you can find someone to do it in your area.

I would spend the $900 and get the EBR stater and call it a day and just keep it tucked away until your stater goes.
