I will concur with that statement. My Cr is still running strong as well!

Bad news stuck here in nc while at the Dragon my stator burned up this week.......I see roadcycle now has switching regulator maybe that and a thicker gauge rewire may be the fix....Looking on google the aprillia guys are fighting with the same issue i have sent a email to Rotax...we will see if they have any tips...gary from custom rewind is a stand up guy and is going to try and help us get this worked out.
theres a good chance the rotor will need a mod or redesign due to to much magnet strength..

stator died after 4900 miles...Dam this sucks
For now i have warrenty and took my bike to a dealer to get a new stator......

anyone tried that upgrade on the Uly? I think my voltage regulator is acting up, and considering upgrading to this.

I also just encountered some bad news while riding home from work. After about 3 minutes into the 20 mile ride, my check engine light came on, then my battery light, then my volts went from 13.9 down to 11.4 in about 20 or so seconds at 68mph in 6th gear running 4500rpms. I downshifted to 5th thinking the higher rpms would kick the volts back up, but there was not much of a change. I rode an extra 10 miles plus the 15 miles hom tinkering with the bike to see if I could figure anything out. The volts would stabilize around 11.3-11.4 and then the check engine/batt light would turn off and the volts would charge to around 12.7 and then after a a minute or so the lights would come back on and back down the volts would go. "SYSTEM VOLTAGE" flashed for just a second and then I never saw it again. For 20 miles my volts dropped down to 11.3 and back up to 12.6. I'm not massive motor head, but I know how to turn a wrench and with some instructions to follow, I can get stuff done. Anyone have any ideas on whether this is my stator or not? It had to be that I'd think. When the voltage regulator goes out, the volts don't flucuate; they just stay low and the display screen shows "SYSTEM VOLTAGE" the entire time. Plus, my VR is fairly new and it's the Mosfet. The battery wouldn't fluctuate either I don't think. Sounds like the stator.

Idea, comments, suggestions? :)

That's a stator......
Erik said the 1190 rotor is differnt and they add a cooling jet to spray oil on the stator.
There hand mating them so there $$$$$
Hopefully will be mass produced next year cutting the cost
Rotax is on a summer shut down.
I have warranty and used it for a free stator.
Custom rewind is now doing a thick wire rewind only know of 1 and he has 700 miles on it.

I figured it was the stator, crap. Well, the nearest HD dealer that tends to Buells is in Dallas, a 5 hour drive from Lubbock. Wild West HD here wants nothing to do with Buells. Talked to Gary from Custom Rewind 1st thing this morning and he said his confidence is limited in regards to the 1125s. He said he's rebuilt around 15 stators for us and 2 have burnt out with the thicker wire, so he hasn't found the cure yet. He said he has a guinea pig bike in right now and he's going to wrap it with thicker wire and give it more turns to see if that works. I think "turns" is what he said. My cell phone gets bad reception and he was muffled. Like you said, RT, the rotar may be putting out too much magnitude. He recommended me to wait a week and call him back next Friday to see how the guinea pig bike charges.

So my 09 has 600 miles on it, rt, and the warranty ends in Nov. Will this change possible keep the stator ok....i drive in traffic zero. I love in Alaska.or what do you recommend?

I would get that switching regulator.
Being in ak the cooler temps are going to help your stator mine made it a whole summer 10,000 miles. Only 500 were in cool weather here in mi.
