I have a M2 Cyclone engine (1203) in my tuber and have the engine out of the bike and we didnt take the cam cover off carefully enough and cylinder #1 came off with the cover. Do you guys know where to start putting everything back into place or a link to a thread covering it?

Well I figured it out. All the cam gears have the notches in them. I had to pull the valve spring covers to release the tension to put the cams back in. The nifty timing viewhole has a notched line
similar to this:

the notch has to be perfectly up to achieve TDC (top dead center).
after you get the pistons in the right position you have to reinsert the cams accprding to the notches like pictured below

put the cover back on then reinstall the valve covers on top of the jugs

Dont get cams 1 and 4 confused. Also dont use the torque method to torque the valve cover bolts [mad] i have a broken bolt in my pocket right now as proof that the 12-15 ppsi then 90 degree turn is the only way you should do it

It wouldnt be just for a tuber, the later 1203 engines cams and timing viewhole are essentially the same. Only on the newer ones in the timing viewhole dont have a notch but have a dimple (shown below) to indicate if you are in TDC and the newer ones still have the nifty cam marks. after you figure it out, its not too difficult to get your timing back

some of your pictures aren't showing on my computer i'm using ... granted I'm on the ANG LAN so they might be being filtered out ... but in case anyone is trying to see what you mean it's just a big fat X ...

But that's also great info to have as well ... [up]
