Going with a 200 rear, I dont have belt guards so no worries.
Virtually no price difference, the Pirelli's look a lil better IMO but u buellers got any opinions? Thanks.

I just got the 200/50ZR-17 Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart Sport Touring tire and love it!

I been looking at the 55's. If u don't mind me asking, what was the price? The Dun and Pirelli are roughly 175$ shipped.

Which Pirelli are you looking at? I looked at the SuperCorsa SP and I think it's around $250.

Nels

i ran a 200mm shinko all last season; works fine for street, carves even better too. [up]

Gax, yes on the stock rim.pretty sure it's all ok. Right guys?
07, on ur stock rim correct? Did u go with a 55 or 50 on the height that is.....

firebolts= 200/50 R17

i ran a 200/50 R17 on a stock rim; 190/55 R17 is 4.5mm to much (rubs on swingarm).

i think lightings;uly's u can do a 55, better check though

100mm is max on stock rim with firebolt, 104.5mm(190/55 R17)is too much so,,,

if u have a 240/40 R17 tyre on a firebolt it will clear the swingarm but will barely clear the belt

Interesting [cool] and in what ways do you prefer the larger tire over the stock . Are you going for that look or is it helping in conjunction with your riding style?

after riding out the stock 180 pirelli diablo, i went to a 200 tomohawk to test the diff. with much more tire back there i was set.

now i dont want anything but a 200; 240 for the baggers

as far as carving theres not much difference no complants here; hardly any chick strips at all and the cruising is phenominal with the bigger contact u have with the 200

Well Gax, if ur asking me... I think it looks pretty beast with the wider tire. Not to mention more rubber on the road. ;)
07, do u mean like where the bend wraps around the tire like shock position? This didn't even cross my mind. I just assumed it was way out there. Thought 200 was it because of little side width not height. Guess I will be looking at different tires. Thanks for the info, the things I learn on here:D

yeah, 50% of 200 is 100mm (from the bead of the tyre to the top of tyre) so,,,

55% of 200 is 104.5, that 4.5 was enough to rub the swingarm and leave a 2mm deep rivet down the middle of my tyre

Btw, 07.where u from? As to spell Tire likeTyre. I know it's some Euro thing just don't know where.

Hey fellas I currently am looking into a angel rear i have a 180 55 diablo rosso on it did ok i go 4500 miles out of it but im not using the whole tire.chicken strips are like 3/8" from the edge. This doesnt bother me but im wundering woul a wider tire leave me a litle more sure footed ,seeing how im not using the entire tire should i swicth?

Buellbrad,
Thats my hypothesis? The 200/55 is going to be a pretty flat tire as compared to the stock thus more tire on the ground. Another plus is the look IMO. Although, the best part of my rear at the moment is the center. Since I stopped commuting to class 650 miles weekly my tires wore really fast on the sides. The centers look pretty much untouched. Continental probaly 4k on them? Not impressed.

yeah mine always get a flat spot about a inch wide. So by going wider im thinking i feal more planted in the corner and the tire will wear beter. Now witch tire should i go with the front only has like 1000miles on it, its a diablo there shouldnt be a problem if i switch to angels should there? and angels tend to last longer right?
